I heard that they have huge power supply issues and that they are overpowering the diodes. There is another forum that did some testing with them but was unimpressed.

OP is obviously spamming.

Definitely spam. 'She' is obviously using google translate to great fail. The asian language translations are usually butchered the worst. I'm guessing this is a direct from China spam attempt.

Skepticism is fine, however, you can plainly see some awesome LED grows right here on the Farm. Skepticism in the face of irrefutable evidence becomes something else entirely.

I am about to finish my virgin grow, and I decided to go with LEDs right off the bat. I couldn't be happier with my results.

will have a look around. only just joined up a few days ago. only ever used hid lighting myself and i like the results i get with it. perhaps the right leds work well but there are undoubtedly a lot of junk light out there.

I'm gonna start saying this is definitely spam.
But now since the thread is open, I will give my opinion. After I had the opportunity of helping a friend with her LED grow I started to get really interested in this lights. After some research around the available LED technology I found out that the best LED in the market today is Hydro Grow LED, but the price is too damn high.
After that, I started studying what make those grow lights so successful. Of course! It's all about the wavelength.. when I finished studying about PAR radiation and Emerson Enhancement effect and discovered I wanted to design my own spectrum.
I came across Apollo Led lights cause you can customize your spectrum and they are very affordable (Even the shipping cost to Chile is the same as the cost of the light itself, it is cheaper that buying one here). I haven't buy one jet, but I'm going to.. at least is fun to design your own spectrum and I'm curious to see the results. I must say that they have a really nice customer service.
When I get my LED and can start growing again I will let you know how is the quality. And also I will start a grow diary to show my results. (hope to get good results):D

From what I've SEEN, you can definitely get high quality cannabis under an LED. My only experience is with HIDs. From a visual perspective it appears that LEDs don't provide the vigor, growth rates, and output that can be achieved under an HID. A local MMC ran some tests and this was their experience as well. The tradeoff with LEDs is a decrease in power and cooling requirements. For a lot of personal growers, this is pretty valuable.

yep, i agree, the lure of decreased power bills and lower cooling required is real, but i wouldn't do that unless the yield were equal or better. i get good results under my current hid light and it would take quite me a fair bit to switch to leds.

my led grows are better than my 600hps grows were. Its all about getting enough power to get the relsults. IMO You need at least a 300-500 watt draw from the wall and you shouldnt be dissappointed. The plants do grow as fast and do produce buds equal in size or greater than a 600 watt hps depending on grower skills. I dont think the apollo light is worth the money honestly. Stick with leds that have universities behind them doing their research. Leds are not for everyone. Just like some farmer veg and bloom under blue halides while others use strictly hps for both. Add an led guy into the mix and thats where the conversation gets interesting.lol
It just depends on your situation, goals and whether or not they can meet those expectations or not. Believe me, leds are here and are here to stay. You just have to have the right size light for the job. Wonka

really? interesting to hear that mate. ya reckon it's due to the light and not some other factor. perhaps you are more skilled now than you were then? definitely interested in hearing more on the subject...

where my skills lack is in the newer led technology.lol. I dont claim to know more than anyone else out there. But after 20+ years of hps use, im pretty sure i know how to use them by now. lol. It just gets tricky because the led technology is moving so quickly. A new model by the same manufacturer doesnt necessarily mean it will fit your application. Some of these newer led lights are meant to actually supplement between a couple of 1000 watters to increase the resin production while still maintaining the yeilds of 1000 watt lights. The manufacturers are starting to develop different applications from what i can tell so far. I have a new model by a known company and if you dont have it at least "4 FEET" above the canopy it will burn. And at 4 feet it still puts out over 6000 lumens at the canopy. I was floored. Its meant to be a supplemental light to hps or halide lights. NOT the main grow light. And it only works on certain varieties. So for the guy that buys that light for his main light source ---thinking it will do killer for his grow. Well, thats not the case with this certain light. As well as some of the newer lights coming out now. Your gonna see 8 and 10 watt led chips here real quick that aren't driven as hard as these newer lensed models. Ive been fortunate enough---because of my local hydro guy---to be let in on whats coming out and how things are rapidly changing and developing. Wonka

sounds tricky mate. i think i'd prefer the simplicity of mh and hps than led lights which only work for certain varieties in certain situations. too overly specialised i reckon.
