Alien Genetics - The Purple One phenohunt

Starting another phenohunt, bought these seeds from Neptune Seeds Auctions site. 10 regular seeds in the pack, looking for the best female.

Environment - AC Infinity tents, starting in a 3×2 and hoping to use my 10×10 AC Infinity tent again. HLG lights, the 100 V2 in the 3×2 for the seedlings and young vegetative plants. Start in 0.5 gal plastic containers, transplant to 3 gal Rain Science bags, and hopefully be able to get the 6 gal autofill Octopot system for this grow. HLG 350Rs will be used for Flower. AC Infinity and GrowBud oscillating fans and AC Infinity Cloudline ventilation system.

Soil - 2/3 Sunshine Advanced Growers #4 Mix, 1/3 Coast of Maine Stonington Blend
Seedlings start in Sunshine Mix only

Nutrients - Advanced Nutrients organic line, beneficial microbes (Mikrobs, Azos, Mykos), and a few organic terpene/bloom boosters added in during the flowering phase (Terpinator, Purpinator, Incredible Bulk Booster)

Using the paper towel method for germination. I put the paper towel in two paper plates to help keep them moist and in a cabinet to keep them in the dark.

Still not fully germinated, maybe tomorrow they'll all be ready to go in soil.

The seeds were ready to go this morning, put them in 0.5 gal containers filled with the Sunshine Advanced Grower's Mix #4. Watered them with 200 mL of 6.3 pH water.

A few clones in the 3×2 AC Infinity tent as well. A Colombian Miracle and two MAC Stomper.

Only got 5 seeds out of 10 to germinate, not great quality seeds. I got rid of the 5 that didn't germinate today. Fed them this morning.

I'm planning on taking clones from the Mother plants I have right now. Colombian Miracle, Flintstones, and M.A.C. I 'l run the 5 The Purple One seeds and see if I can get lucky with a good female. I ordered a clone from a local company here in Maine. I'l be picking that up in 10-14 days. The goal will be to have 6 plants ready for Flower in 5-6 weeks from now.

Been interested in Alien Genetics since he came on here with his polyhybrids.

I think these were special editions(purple one). I've been interested in the colab he did with the Rootbeer male.

A tribute to Prince using their Sour Apple IBL male crossed to Mendo Purps sounded really good to me. Not sure how old they are or how well they were stored. We'll see how they do.

Took two clones of each of the Mother plants I have and two from the one Father plant I have, Colombian Miracle. Soaked Root Riot cubes in an Azos solution. pH @6.0, 1 tbsp/32 fl oz. Dipped the clones in Clonex rooting gel before putting them in the cubes. Misted them with a 1 tsp/32 fl oz solution of Clonex nutrients for seedlings and clones.

We're two weeks in soil today, end of the seedling stage. Tomorrow starts Day 1 of Veg.

Day 2 of Veg, fed the plants this morning.

Azos @ 1 tbsp/2.5 gal
Mikrobs @ 2 tsp/gal
pH s 6.0 before adding microbes, pH @ 6.4 after. Gave each plant 200 mL each.

Day 7 of Veg and the plants are off to a pretty good start, nice fat fan leaves. Fed them this morning. The bigger clones are starting to outgrow those 0.5 gal containers. Hoping I can move these plants into my basement sooner rather than later. It's 55° down there now, I think I can keep a tent above 60° F consistently and that should be warm enough to have the plants grow. With the lights on it's easy, it's figuring out the 6 hours off that will be the issue. I would rather not run a space heater. We'll see what happens this week. Picking up a few clones from the local nursery at some point this week. For the fans of North Atlantic Seed Company in Maine, they run a nursery up here as well and that's where I'm picking them up from.

Picked up the three clones today from Maine Clone Company. They all look awesome, very healthy. They're in Pro Mix right now and they were being fed Advanced Nutrients Sensi line nutes under 24 hr lights. I'm switching to Sunshine #4 Mix and Advanced Nutrients organic line.

Planning on taking clones tomorrow, transplant to 0.5 gal containers with the Sunshine #4 mix, and start training them the best I can. One of each will be put into Flower for this run.

Took some more clones yesterday because for whatever reason there's still no roots 17 days from taking them so I'm losing hope. Not sure why they still look okay. In the past bad clones have actually looked bad and not rooted. I've had worse looking clones start shooting roots in the past too. Still something I have yet to dial in...

Transplanted The Purple One plants into 3 gal Rain Science bags and moved them down to my basement. They're in the 10×5 now. Trying to get temps up. 72-75° as of right now. Put all of the bags on golf balls to get them off the floor thanks to a useful tip from @GNick55

Also transplanted the #2 MAC Stomper. So far they're not liking the move downstairs so much, but I think they'll start coming around in a couple of days or so.

I think they're already looking better. Temp up to 84° F/RH 40-50%, running three HLG 350Rs in the 10×5 to get it that warm. Basement temp is at 60°F. Nothing is running full power, closer to 75% for two and somewhere between 50-75% over the plants. PPFD 400-500, 24 hr light cycle, DLI around 40.

That 60 degree basement is a killer. Same problem here. I have to run space heaters in the grown 8-12 hours a day on and off. Really increases the winter growing bill.
