Hi there amekins! Been lurking around your diary and decided to drop in and show some love! Thank you so much for sharing all the ups and downs of your garden! I really enjoyed reading through it.

Not many female growers around and your thread has helped inspire my wife to catch the growing fever as well! I show her all your plants and we LOVE your kitties.. Lots of good info here I learned a few things and had a few laughs, so thank you again amekins!

I am with you on cat piss Amekins! No thanks. Not sure if it is related but I steer away from all N in flowering other than maybe a shot of fish. The nitrogen brings that smell IMO when it converts to ammonium nitrate

Cat piss smell is gone. They just smell green right now. These are honestly the only flowers I should ever be given, Valentine’s Day or otherwise. I also transplanted my seedlings for the garden this summer, using up the last of my soil. I still have to buy some more for flowers to be started.

I think when you cure it and put it in its proper container , that bud is going to have a healthy dose of " bag appeal " regardless of its harvest size .....

Might want to trim off the skinny leaf though , that's what I would do , but everyone's got their preference .....
Could remove the green smell a bit quicker , but the green will go away when you separate the bud from the stems ...

Those fan leaves were not easy to just pull wet so I figured I’d get them when I dry trim. My bud dries too quickly so I’d rather leave the foliage on until I trim them from the stems. They won’t be curing with those fan leaves.

Are you sure it’s a she if she’s spraying??

Nothing much new. Still waiting for numerous purple punch clones to root. Once they do, momma is going to be flipped. She is having some N and calmag issues and some foliar feeding is being done twice a day until her soil is dry enough to be watered/fed. The blue dream af is starting to show some issues as well (she’s in coco) so I’m upping the Oily Cann on every feed. All the cats are pretty good at ignoring the plants. But Marble is the only one who can get on top of the tent and he does. He also likes to play with the sensor if allowed (I did this one time).

Have you grown dahlias before Amekins? I love growing flowers. None are prettier than dahlias imo although they are a bit trickier in my weather.
I’ve never grown anything before this past summer. I have some moulin rouge pansies trying to germinate along with some maglia rose tomatoes. I’ve got three basil plants, two Napa grape tomato plants, a bunch of other pansies to plant, and some round zucchini and space saver cucumbers planned for my balcony along with my cannabis plants.

With 9+ clones still waiting to root, the purple punch was moved to the closet this morning to start her 12 hrs of daily beauty rest. The clone that has rooted and been uppotted is ready to go to its new owner I just have to make arrangements. No pistils yet on either af. Other small plants for the garden are taking up edges and I suspect I’ll need to make use of the light splitter I got a while back to let them continue vegging until frost date has passed and I can pot them for outdoors. And just a few Marble pictures thrown in because. He melts into cushion crevices. Our oldest (and fluffiest) cat decided to attack the fan leaves on the tangerine dream af while I was watering. Those got trimmed and she got to eat her fill of them off the plant.

The purple punch clone that rooted and transplanted well has been gifted (I hope its new owner can keep it alive). The mother is currently in the closet as the only flowering photo in the tent. Trying something different and watering less with the coco plants. The plants in general looked wet, cold, and hungry yesterday, and they’ve looked hungry for a while despite my best efforts to remedy. Just with less watering, giving the plants a greater boost in their saucers with some pot toes, they are a lot perkier. I also realized yesterday I was completely ODing with the Oily Cann (cal/mag/humic acid) because of my idiotic math errors. Ppm was 844 going in and 742 coming out. Ph 6 in and just slightly lower out. So, less water, more air, proper oily cann dosage. I’m not changing anything else until I know the effects of these changes. The rest of my seedlings for my outdoor garden are coming along. I want to put some kind of perimeter shelf that I can use with little light for seedlings and such. Suggestions on cheap and easy please. Fridge and oven are dying. Car had a bunch of work that needed to be done. Unexpected dental work. Just a lot that isn’t at all budgeted for. But my garden makes me happy. I’m really happy about the two newest seedlings.
