I’ve never liked the way the older style window, ACs kick off and on all the time! There’s not enough spread in temperature between the on and off! Would be nice if you could adjust that! I think most of them are only about a 3° spread! The inverter ones are a little quieter about it! I wonder if your AC units internal thermostat is fighting with your controllers thermostat! Just chirping!😁🍻
So what I did was connected it to the ACI plug and set the window unit to ON. This means the window unit thermostat is circumnavigated and it is solely turned off and on by the temp inside of the tent. What I think I’m going to have to do is either create a larger gap allowance for “ideal” temp or just move it off AI and reset the manual triggers like I had it so I would run for a minimum of 25 mins or a max of an hour.

Also I may just be being super anal about how often it is turning off and on. Truthfully it was a pretty cheap unit but highly rated I just need a year out of it. Also as the seasons change the demand on the unit will greatly change. Also eventually will be moving to photo period grows but I spent 200 bucks on seeds so I need to grow all these autos.

I think the thermostat on the unit is on the intake underneath the screens that you clean! So I don’t see how you could bypass that unless you were running a ducted outlet to the tent and a ducted return to the air conditioner! But I don’t know shit! Lol! If it’s working for you, run with it! I just know those old bombers were tough to sleep around!😆 but better than melting down in the rack! Thinking about it a little more and I think you are right! As long as the AC units thermostat is telling it to blow cold from the lung room air, then the controller program inside the tent just turns the whole shebang on and off!

Hahaha You got it, Exactly what I’m doing! Me saying I by passed the sensor was really misleading. What I was trying to say. Is the window ac unit sensor will be reading the lung room temp. So I set the unit to ON and the temp at 74. This time of year it is highly unlikely for my lung room to get down to 74 alal I bypassed the sensor 🥳

So the experiment worked and I let the AI control it all and for the past 18 hours it has kept temps and humidity right were it needs to be.

Downside: I went back and started reviewing the logs and pretty much it was kicking the AC on and off every 5 mins. Well we can’t have that it will just burn up the compressor in no time.

I don’t know! They may be built for that! The old GE bomber in my bedroom window seem like it kicked on just about that often! But it wasn’t from Stone off! I don’t know if that has anything to do with it! But the noisy mofo lasted me 15years!! But I’m glad it quit blowing cold! Was time for an upgrade! 🥶😂

Most window unit compressors advise a specific rest period between running cycles to avoid burning out you should check your manual or online.

You can also set the buffer range on any port in the little gear wheel settings button on the top right of the app. It really helps keep things from cycling too fast.

Thanks for the advice. I do want to play with the buffers. Originally I had it set where AI had control and not sure if I can change the AI’s buffers.

Either way what I learned is moving to the advanced setup AI did a much better job and kept everything in line.

For now I have taken the AC off of the AI feature and have it setup in manual mode and it will be turned on by temperature triggers and then I am able to set a minimum run time of 20 mins.

My 4 ACI intake fan came in. Im prolly going to hold of installing it since the majority of the time my lung room is 85+ this time of the year.

We got a thunderstorm this afternoon and it cleared out the heat lung room chilling at 82. Since those temps have hit tent has not gotten hot enough to reach the AC trigger temp.

Nice thing is my lung room will be useable about 6 months out of the year.

Anyways things are just chugging along.

Been thinking…

One of my goals through growing has been to become more harmonious with nature and working with it.

So with that being my main goal. I zoomed out and started thinking about my other goals with this project.

My second main goal is quality. What does quality mean to me. I’m looking for yummy smoke. Which I know drying and curing will be just as important.

Making plans…. July 1st I’m moving the tent to a 12/12 schedule. I will also add 2-4 photo fems. That will be grown completely under 12/12. By the time all of it finishes we should be rolling into the fall and then I will run a combo of autos and photos and do an 18/6 veg for 45ish days and then flip.

I am realizing the futility in trying to battle the blazing Sun. I also came to the beautiful realization that with a drying tent I have the ability to always have my tent running so it’s not like I have a need to grow monsters.

Finally figured out how to do the manual triggers. AC turns on at 86 and runs for a minimum of 20 mins. Longer if need be.

Lung Room hung out from 93-98 from 12.30 to 6pm

With the lung room at that temp even though I am not bringing in any of the air. The tent is back up to the high temp set within 10 mins.

All in all things continue to rock along. I have several micro green spouts!

Chug chug chugging along. Tent is doing its deal. My first micro greens tray is doing ok. I got a Peru Lemon Drop pepper to pop ground so that is exciting.

Plants are doing their thing. I need to back down on watering of face fat he looks a little drowned.

I really am loving this tent.

The wifey is headed out of town this weekend for a girls weekend. Which means I get 3 solid days of working the garage gotta rearrange my storage racks so I can set up the drying tent.

Installed my 4 inch ACI S4 pro. Unfortunately it looks like where I would like to place it the UIS cord is not long enough to connect to the AI controller. Not really a Big Deal. The next few months it is really on usable Till 10pm till about 10am.

So i will turn it on before bed and off before I leave work.

And if I forget it will not be not a big deal. This is more about chasing a perfect environment as many hours a day as I can. I have had to accept that at times things will be out of range due to lung room temps. Even still it is far better than what my outdoor girls go through on a daily basis.

My nature's living soil auto flower concentrate came in last night. My plan is Sunday I will mix it up using a combination of Happy Frog/Ocean Forrest/Strawberry fields and then i think i will take a scoop out and back fill with Happy Frog i want to give the roots a little more time before they dive fully in.

Tent Keeps on Tenting.

Smooth sailing so far. I would say I am borderline over watering. The outdoor grow taught me to always be scared they need water.

This week will move to top watering only.

Then next weekend I have to make my first trip out of town. That is very anexity provoking at least if something goes wrong and the ac goes out and the plants fry will at least I’m only a few weeks in.

Tomorrow I am going to test out turning off my exhaust fan while the light is out. All I am doing is pulling out cool air during the hottest part of the day.

For sure have been over watering.

Face Fat is still not happy and I’m pretty sure it is because he has been sitting wet.

Currently running an ACI Pro 5x5. I use a window unit directly inside for cooling.

My Problem!!!!!!! My tent is in my garage and it does not have AC. During the day the temp in the garage is 97 and we are not even to the hot part of summer.

So since it is so hot I can not pull any outside air in for basically 16 hours a day

So I am setting up a drying tent… The thought occurred to me. Couldn’t I just set up circulation/exhaust between the 2 tents.

So I am thinking a 3x3 or 2x2 Then I can put a floor AC unit in it. That will cool the tent to dry the good good. The main tent I can dump my exhaust into it and then pull air from that tent back into the main tent. That gives me 2 ac units with the ability to run.

Anything I’m not thinking about.

Tent keeps on tenting. Face Fat continues to decline.

The provided fans for the 5x5 are under powered and need longer cables. Prolly my biggest complaint so far.

Talked it over with a few people and they all argeed setting up an artificial lung room in my drying tent would be most efficient.
