Way back in the day I planted a bunch of columbian gold seeds, some of the best weed I've ever smoked. I must have had a hundred sprouts. The next day I had a hundred stems. pillbugs had eaten every one.you have a great setup. watering is tough, so i use sips.
my soil is an extension of my outdoors, which makes it very particular and weirdly balanced. sometimes i have input on generalities, but im typically in a niche.
for example, i have pill bugs the predators cant get to, so they destroy any kind of seedling, including clover, cannabis, basil, and alfalfa.
given how ignorant i am, i feel lucky to get harvests. but i always have recharging compost on hand and dont have to worry much going from garden to tent.
im a cheap sob.
