I let my plants get huge been in veg a long while and I just had to trim 80 percent out of it ! No air flow getting in to many flimsy branches formed with no light hitting them. it was all bad so I did what I had to do. Question I have is on most branches I took all new bud sites off up to the new 3-4 on the tip of each branch and cut most secondary branches out since they were so slender. I can wait before flip but im courious on what people think I should do. I'm worried about having cut all bud sites but the tips of the branches. I can wait untill it fill back with sites again but if so how many do I leave? Do I cut any ? Never grew a plant this big and not sure I will get enough sites back after flipping to flower. Thanks!! I'm in coco perlite in 10gal pots and will up pot before flipping a few days. I am feeding everyday 4 gallons and getting a half gallon run off. In put is 1000 ppm at 5.8ph. I have done lst, topping fimming and another training method I invented. I am using advanced nutrients connisour grow non coco, B-52, voodoo plus tablets, myco teas every week or two, sensizym, Sensi cal mag xtra, bud candy and tap water between 100ppm and 160 ppm. Plants are over 4.5ft tall 5-6 foot across. Rooms 76-84f temp lights on and 55-65 rh depending on temp. They are under LEDs turned up to 80 percent at 30inches away. 18 hours on-6off. The plants are extremely vigorous due to my training method. It tricks the plant. Anyway any advice is much appreciated!!! Thank you!!! Also any advice on the second plant I have yet to defoliate? Thanks!!! The three before the last photo are the plant I’m about to defoliate any advice much appreciated. In the pictures you can see the bud sites left are only at the tip of each branch and most have three.

On a side note, this is also why legal home grow states are changing from plant counts to 10×10 canopy sizes. They're just now figuring out people can grow 12 lbs with 6 plants! 💪🏼

Love to see this keep us posted!!

They're gorgeous! Absolute monsters too. I also 100% agree with the defol you're doing.

Do you have the headroom for them to double or triple in size? Cuz that's what they're gonna do.
Thanks! Yeah I have the room if I have to I can move them! I have 5 foot up and they are a little over 4 now so should be fine I’m running led so I can get flat on ceiling. I was worried I should might not have cut all the extra branches off that are forming and not cut all the new growth nodes off like I did. I took them all the way to the tips so only bud sites with be what grows in stretch. That ok? I have one more to trim up and defoliate should I do different on it? This is what it looks like . So do I cut all these new branches off or leave a few that have reached close to the top? And do I cut all new growth on the nodes except the tip top couple and fan leafs like in the last picture? Thank you for the response and the help!

Your plants have almost the same prolific branching as a strain called Hot Mess I grow. If it were me yeah, I would try not to have a jungle like that! Looks like a recipe for bugs, mold and a lot of larf. I like to be able to see through the bottom third of my plants. Removing whole branches might not be necessary if they're gonna stretch and get out into some good light. If not the air doesn't circulate properly and the low light stress can help induce hermies.

You'll wind up with little micro climates under the plant that behave differently than the rest of the room. The last thing you want are pockets of humid, stagnant air trapped down there.

Those ladies are definitely going past the height of your lights right now.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks! Good I was worried I might only get 1foot or so stretch and would have no buds left since I vegged it so long. I don’t mind super cropping and tieing stuff down..

watching this thread. hope to see what happens to that indoor beast.

i tend to have a lighter touch for pruning, and i almost never defol. but id have a pile next to that plant that would make me wonder where it all came from.
You and me both lol I actually have three in there just about to thin this one a bit then flip after I up pot in a couple days.

You're going to get at least 4 feet of stretch but it doesn't just stretch from the top. The whole plant gets bigger.

Do a little experiment and measure the distance from the soil to the bottom of where you trimmed and mark that spot with a twist tie. Then when you chop measure it again. You could do this multiple places on the plant if you want. You'll be surprised how much the bottom grows too.

You're gonna need a ladder as well. 👍🏻

Ok I re-read your op. I'll bite...

What's your proprietary training method?

Great lol I’m hopping now most of my stored energy was expended in when I let it grow wild for those couple weeks!
