Don’t mean to be a smart ass but what’s the difference?? If 1 cup comes out the bottom or 1000L isn’t the soil at 100% absolute maximum saturation/drowning point if even a cup comes out? That’s what I’m scared of.

wouldn’t this be the same as submerging them into a bathtub so they could absorb as much as possible into the soil basically??

Kinda nervous here. And overthinking it.

Is “overwatering” considered when you water them too often? Or is it when you give them too much water at once?

To me overwatering is when the soil never dries out. Plant roots need to breathe, and being too wet causes rot. When you let the pot dry back, you make the roots search for water. If you do this, only water when necessary, your plant will have those drier periods, and the roots will take off. Your plant will turn around in no time. When I do water, I water with nutrients until water runs out of the bottom of the pot.

Damn that’s a lot of water. Approx 2 gallons each?! 😳🤯. So double the nutes as I use 10ml per gallon. Now the plants will be getting 20ml of almost each fertilizer if I were to water till runoff. Does that seem right?

Water slowly until you see water start to trickle out the bottom. At the same rate of nutes you always do. Don't change anything but how much you water. I hope I'm not confused about what you asking.

No you’re not. Basically saying I need to double everything I give them. They used to only get one gallon.
They won’t start leaking till about 1.5-1.75 gallons.

when I was giving them a gallon and 10ml of each fertilizer I was told I could be over fertilizing them. Now I’m going to 20ml per watering.

I was taught you should always water to run off. If you don't the salts will accumulate in the last couple of inches of the bottom of the pot. I look at it as I'm flushing the pot of those old nutrients and pushing through the new. Let the pot dry out before repeating. Keep the rate per gallon the same. Just make enough to run through.

The thing about growing cannabis is that every plant/ grow room / handling habits / environment is different. You just need to make sure they aren't constantly saturated with water. They need a period of time to dry out . For instance I let mine go 5 days after giving them 3/4 of a gallon each but i also have a homemade smart pot which is different. Also it's just important to make sure your plants are using the nutrients and add more until you notice they don't take it.

They look a little scraggly but I had just tucked a bunch and defoliated a little

I used to do a gallon roughly every 3 days. Maybe now it’ll be 2 gallons every 6 days.

5 gallon fabric pots.1:3 promix and perlite

I had 10 gallon fabric pots show up the other day. The water/nutrients/money those are gonna drink is scary.

It's not a formula like that..."this many gal to this much nutes..." you have to read your plants... I auto water, you think I know how many gal per feed? No way!...i go by the seconds on the timer, I use my eyes and intuition. This week was too wet, idk next week take 5 sec of every feed.
Trying to follow a rigid formula will screw you every time, you gotta be adaptable

I followed this chart on the first grow. 1 gallon per watering. The nutrients were always according to chart and every 3 days as that’s when they needed it (mostly in flower) .

I did have minor clawing and a little nitrogen burn but otherwise the plants turned out amazing and I listened to the chart only for the most part.

I guess we’ll see. Two plants got a double dose. The other four got the normal amount. We’ll see how they look in a week.

if those 10 gallon pots take 3-4 gallons to water. And my fertilizers call for 10ml/gallon. How do I proceed? Id have to read the plant and determine what it needs and doesn’t need each week?

These were fed according to the chart. Fertilizer every time. Every 3 days (they needed it). One gallon. No flush. Nerded out on the cure. The bud is very nice.

Yea I always just start the nutes at 1/4 strength and slowly work my way up. It's worked good for me so far. I'm only on my second grow but I've never experienced any type of nutrient burn or curling at all. This is my current grow, she's on day 10 I think of 13/13 and is starting to form some buds

Kingbrite is here and it’s badass!! Wow it’s bright.

that is beautiful from one plant up above btw. Damn. I’m not even getting that off 6 plants which brings me to my question.

do I got way too many fan leaves? My tent is super bushy and crowded and some stems are bent and not getting any light at all.

now I’ve upgraded lights massively 2 weeks into flower.

Wow I hope mine looks like that.

It’s pink lemonade from 53rd street. Nothing special. Just some seeds I got from the local store since I was desperate

Next grow (starting tomorrow) is going to be in-house genetics in my 3x3 tent with the viparspectra 2000 as veg for 2 months.

flower tent is 4x4 and a kingbrite 480w so they will be 2 month cycles

3 weeks in. Got the kingbrite. Had it a bit high (60cm). It’s supposed to be 30-45 they say in flower. So I lowered it.

I also LST some of my taller branches. One I bent a bit too much and kinda split it open down the middle. Oops. I think it’ll recover.

did some serious defoliation. Twice now. And basically lollipopped them

Alien og due in 1-2 weeks. Lemon og haze and sour d due in 3 -4 weeks.

Sofar so good. The sour diesel has been a delay but seems to be picking up.

Let me know what you think and how close the alien og in the close up pictures is to harvesting.

oh yeah. good job
Several things right off the bat. Thrips are bad. They do lots of harm to plants overall health, and second, the feeding schedule you are using is for a recirculating HYDRO setup. That's why you almost killed them. Be meticulous about your homework. No offense to you, but it seems half of us are either severely ADD, or smokin too much. I've been guilty of this at times too. So many people are in a hurry to grow the badass shit they see in high times. Slow down, think it through. The other thing I see, is the worst thing that can happen to newer growers: They get lucky and have a fantastic crop of shit that'll paralyze a moose.
Remember, you are not a real grower until you've screwed up a crop or two, and killed a bunch. Your failures teach so much more. And last but not least, keep notebooks on every crop. What you do to your plants, how, and general observations. Don't trust your memory,(ADD, smoking dope). I have books from 10 years ago. Still good reading. When I die I'll donate them to the home for old growers.

I have changed fert schedules to the weaker one

The aphids have gotten worse. Ladybugs and green lacewings didn’t seem to help all that much. Going to start fresh next grow and hopefully don’t have this problem.

they are now 6 weeks into flower
