Are these trichomes ready for harvest? This is a slightly Sativa dominant strain.

Hi all,

Great to be here. First time grower.
I just harvested my first 2 plants. I would like your collective opinions on the state of the trichomes in the pictures. They were taken just before I harvested. Was I too early??

Looks great. I let more amber come in for my 1st grow but for my 2nd I’ll let it get to cloudy then harvest. Prob let minimal amber come in to play.

what did you use to take the pics?

Man...I tried everything out there...jeweler's loops (I have 2 of them), a Carson MicroBrite Plus Pocket Microscope and 3 different USB microscopes. Finally I found a USB microscope that works well, but I had to construct a pillar with a boom to hold the camera steady while I focused and took the shot. The USB microscope I finally used for the pics in this thread was this one:

https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Mic...n-Magnification/dp/B00XNYXQHE?ref_=ast_sto_dp

This one has a ~8" flexible post/stand/mount that I zip-tied to the end of my boom. The flexible post is nice because you can get the boom pretty close to where you want it and then just manipulate the post into the position you want.

Very nice pics. I got this microscope

it works great and it has Bluetooth capability with my iPhone but just like yours I need to keep it steady somehow or else the focus is bad
