Can these guys stay or should I get rid of them? If so how?

Get a Japanese beetle trap and put it near your plant. Those things will eat your plant and they cause a lot of damage.

Near year, treat your lawn in late spring for grubs. That’s will reduce the number of Japanese beetles significantly. I sometimes spray them directly with some captain jacks dead bug. Kills them almost instantly. I also flick them off or have my kids manually remove them from my ornamentals and put hem in canning jars, they ends up dying in jars, lol
