Hello, this is my first time growing, and I’m having trouble determining if it’s ready for harvest. Using a magnifying glass, I see the trichomes are very clear, but with the naked eye, I can spot some of them having an amber hue. What’s your opinion? Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

You want to look at the trichomes on the buds not the leaves, percentage of amber to clear, cloudy is kind of a personal preference. I like about 50% amber. For me at that degree of ripeness I get the most out of what the plant can be. In both weight and high. The higher percentage of amber the more couch lock it will be. This is why I smoke Sativas when I want to be active and a Indica when it's mellow out time.

Welcome to the farm. Those are very nice-looking buds you have there! Good job! I'd say they're close to being ready. Now it's mostly a matter of your preferred ripeness. The more amber trichomes, the more mellow the high. Enjoy!

A digital microscope makes checking trichs much easier. You can get them pretty cheap on Amazon.
