What is the best light schedule for autoflower??
I will say when I turn the lights off for a few hours with my auto they really start to smell. so, turning them off for a while does something for the terps I think. This is just an educated guess on my part. I try to give them a rest for about 4 hours a day. I don't do it every day. But everything needs a break sometimes.

I would either do it or not, the varying schedule could stress the plant if done to many times. Another schedule is 20\4.

Check these people out on youtube.com, they run autos, 24 hours a day. I am using 20/4. I left mt lights on 24 hours the first 4 weeks. My plants are off to a big start at 6 weeks.

Here is mine at 18\6. But remember it is the strain the determines the characteristics. Also remember it's not the size that matters it's the quality. BTW the plant you see produced .85 of a pound of smoking bud.

What strain is that?

I've read many threads about this and most seem to conclude that more than 20 hours is a waste of electricity.

I favor giving the plants some darkness. I haven't done much reading about this, but from what I've seen, plants need some darkness. Some of the benefits have to do with gas exchange and some have to do with how they use sugars. (I'm straining my brain trying to remember.)

The best place I found is to read and listen to everything dr Bruce bugbee says about anything to do with cannabis.

Yes, he's outstanding. He can also make my head hurt. I remember what I read better than what I see when I watch videos. I agree, though, anyone who's serious about growing should subscribe to his channel. I do.

I have a similar question, I have some photos I want to start into flower on a 12/12 schedule. They are in the same room with my autos and have been on 18/6 schedule for 5 weeks. The autos are already budding. Will my yield decrease if I switch to a 12,-12 lighting schedule? I realize that I'm off topic, but I'm having trouble figuring out exactly where to pose my queries. Thanks y'all

Hola Dreamfox! While I have your attention, how old should my plants be to start the flowering stage? My photos, that is. I started with the autos in dirt cuz I was in a hurry to get something sprouted. In time imma clean up the whole room and build a nice automatic hydro system. I designed a built my own ebb and flow tables way back when, I think I can do a better job these days with so much more supplies and methods to choose between.

Also, I'm with Lovegrowingit , I just got the Marijuana Bible by Jorge Whatsisname. It's full of color pix, charts, diagrams and lots of words. I've always been a huge reader, still love me some books. If I have a thought, or questions, just turn to the page. No loading, buffering, or advertising.
Not crazy about videos, but I do watch them. I just love the feel and smell of a brand new book.

That really depends on space. You can flip them after 3-4weeks but some people veg for months. Just remember they will double or triple in height during stretch

I've always used 16on 8off for veg and 10on 14off after flower.
