automatic drip feeding from 5 gallon water jug?

Ok so I'm starting to look into setting up a drip feed system for around 20 plants and have seen a lot of systems to hook up to a faucet but I'd rather be drawing from one of those 5 gallon water jugs. I saw these water transfer pumps that fill coffee makers and ice makers and stuff from the water jugs but I'm not sure how I could make that transfer to something along the lines of run for x minutes every x hours I'm also not entirely sure how I could take the outlet line and put together a line with say 15-20 other lines one for each plant and ensure an even flow across them. Anyone have any ideas

You can just put a rope into the bottom of a trash can full of water and then put the other end of the rope in the top of your potted plant.
