Better Reeking, Cooler and longer cure?

What's the key to getting great smelling flowers via Curing?

I clipped one with mostly clear Trichomes 90% dry in 5 days and it smells green. A second one also prematurely clipped 2 days / 50% dry, smells good but not near a 10.

I slowed the airflow. Current 70F / 40 RH.

What's the key, cooler and slower although I'm nervous about mold?

Well... There's drying and then there's curing. It sounds like you're still drying. Curing comes next.

You'll get a lot of ideas about drying and curing. Most growers recommend slow drying at 60º F and 60% humidity. At those settings, drying a plant takes about a week, but it varies. Curing usually involves putting the buds in Grove bags or jars and letting them sit in a dark place for a month or longer. Darkness is important because it helps to deactivate the chlorophyl, and chlorophyl affects taste and flavor.

We move our buds from the drying tent to Grove bags. The bags stay in a dark cabinet for 4 to 6 weeks. Then they go into dark glass Mason jars.

There's little need to worry about mold if the humidity is controlled. 60% makes mold unlikely and is excellent for vaping.

Current 70F / 40 RH.
That'll dry the buds too rapidly. A key factor is that the inside of buds dries slower. You'll get uneven drying at those settings, I believe.

Thanks for the reply. Doing a proper cure would definitely be a step up for me.

I like the 60/60. I'm going to shut my dehumidifier off - it's already on the highest setting but too much dehu.

I'll let the grow room get up to 60 RH and keep it there until trimming.

I'm in 63rd day of flower now and have started flushing (maybe too early) so adding some RH will probably be ok and welcomed by the girls.

I WAS going to selective harvest, cut the mature ones and let the rest mature but that would mean more handling and more trichome damage and much more hassle so I'm going to flip the grow room into the dry room and hang em high!

Check out pic at day 53.
