Broke stem, can it survive

Hi there, I broke my main stem by the light falling, iv taped it up same as I have in past with smaller branches but after two days the branches above the break are wilting and canoeing. Should I persevere or bin the plant or try and make some clones with the healthy branches below the break.
will the yield be affected even if it survives. It’s still in veg .

I have snapped a many and if you can get it back together somewhat , it will mend.
It’s not like rooting a clone and takes 10 days to root, it’s more of a 2-3 to recover and then a week or so mend the spot solid again .
