Hey guys had some brown spots show up this morning after a couple days of rain and humidity in a dry environment. No mush, no stink, no black, grey, or dust spores. Just brown buds unfortunately. Is this bud rot?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Just wondering if I should start chopping a couple buds off I plan on harvesting Sunday afternoon after a couple days of sun

To me it looks a effected by mold but usually the flower falls off easily when that colour in my experiences, id remove any affected areas and keep a close eye if more appears and if it does id chop

I had some mold during this current harvest, the mold on the bud was on the stem and growing through the bud, it was white. Some areas turned brown like that where the mold was was minimal. If it’s just that small portion, I’d toss it to be safe.
Also when I was breaking apart the moldy bud, the spores dusted out.

I had something similar on one bud of a GG4 cola. I think it was moldalthough it was almost iridescent in appearance and seemed to evaporate as soon as Itouched it. It didn't discolor but I still removed the affected portions of the cola just to be safe. My humidity was pretty low but I guess the bud was big enough to create it's own micro-climate deep inside it.

man I've seen no spore dust or anything ive had a hard time tearing it off. I suppose ill take off the affected areas to be safe. i touch the brown and it won't come off it doesn't smear or disappear or anything. doesn't smell odd either. its a real stringy plant i had issues with it indoors so i placed her outdoors because a wise man mentioned to me.. " i guess I'm from the times where didn't toss anything out. just put her in some soil and let her grow..." something to the effect, right Jimster??

I haven't personally seen Bud rot since the mid-90s but because you mentioned that it showed up quickly after days of rain I think it might be. Again I'm not positive so I found a few pictures, hope it helps? good luckView attachment 908661View attachment 908662
That looks like cottonball mold, bud rot is more like the mold on old grapes, very nasty. I had two spots on a plant that went outdoors til last week and should have taken a picture. Most pictures of outdoor budrot looks more like caterpillar damage, dry brown bud, peppered with frass, that picks off easy.

I’m assuming you growing this outdoors. This is not mold or anything to that degree. Look at the rest of the bud looks normal and you don’t see the mold in it. Only parts of a bud are damaged which lead me to suspect there is only one creature that will damage buds like that. I’m surprised no one got this diagnosis. The tell tell signs are an outdoor grow. What’s the issue. 🤔 Bud worms. When only parts of buds turn brown outdoors and the rest of the bud looks healthy it’s not a mold. Especially when the grower is not making any over watering or stagnant water claims. Where are the real growers on these threads with experience. 6 misdiagnoses today I fixed. 5 viroid and 1 bud worm problem. Been growing for 20+ years I’ve seen it all. Nobody seems to know anything these days but to blame everything on nutes or mold.

Lol. You havent “fixed” anything. You are as bad as the tobacco virus panicking noobs with this mutation crap.

You can water and nute stress a young plant into a lot of problems. Add some lst and topping during the stress. Now a transplant, now a flush, etc.

None of the other plants look anything like your old clone. And others are not having your issue.

If those little burned brown bud leaves dont pull right out like the flower is squishy then I think you may be over ripe and have actually started yellowing and burning the calyx.

When you touch bud rot its pretty obvious. Soft and nasty.
Neither leaves nor bud pull out easy. Even the brown leaves and buds re hard to get off my plant. I was leaning (hoping) I had overripe buds and not mold. But it really is hard to diagnose.

Yeah get a close look. Mold is pretty obvious. Were the spots yellow first? I have never faded a calyx though. Just the bud leaves.
. I forgot to mention that on a freeze night I got some hot eater buckets and put them around my ladies outside. I accidentally fed about a half gal of hot water to my plants when it was 32 degrees out. But no browning accused after that on the calyx just a couple of leaves turned yellow but no brown.

Your knowledge is appreciated, no need to insult everyone. I've been growing for 35+ years as have many others, although I personally don't grow much from clones nor do I have any issues with the genetics or virus's. I can only comment on what I have experienced or learned. Stick around and you will see that 99% of most problems on the site are nutrient or growing method related, not Epigenetic or viral in nature. Please continue to contribute as you can never get enough good information, but throwing stones hasn't helped to solve anything. It would be a waste to choose to insult these poor bastards that are watching their plants go to hell when you could help them out like you could have. If you have been growing as long as you say, then you are old enough to work and play well with others.
Welcome to the farm! I look forward to your input, as you really do have some good info and insights... now it is time to share them and help the guys on the site. There are tons of folks that crow about their great accomplishments on every site, although I think this is one of the best sites online in terms of being a bunch of serious growers who have some years under their belt, unlike most sites that post countless pics of seedlings by 15 year old kids growing under a table lamp. Chip in and contribute and leave the crowing to the kids... you have too much knowledge to waste it.

My bad, you are right. No need to throw stones. 👍
