Most the info above is currently the plan but things are constantly changing. Everything is trial and error. I will eventually upgrade to 3 more systems and all 1000w lighting. I might have left out certain details but will add them as the journal progresses.

Inside each 13gal bucket is a 3/4" air line that supports the 9" flex airdisk diffuser that can handle/produce .05-5.0 scfm of air. Increasing dissolved oxygen greatly in every bucket.
3" ABS under current manifold system with 3" Uni-seals connects each bucket.

You may want to wrap those buckets all the way up, the white buckets are known for letting light in and algae becoming and issue.

Looking good tho!

budlust, totally love the set up. exactly what im settin a friend up with, except bigger buckets 25gal. i see you got the blower, ww39 i think, i've been wondering why more people dont use these.. too much turbulence perhaps, but how loud is that thing, do you have any kind of pump house or foam for noise? do you plan on wrapping the top of the buckets? stoked to see how the heavy 16 turns out, i wanted to try it but had no one to build confidence rockin it in the UC. good luck man im gonna enjoy the show

Regen blowers don't hold up well with the type of back pressure experienced in most UC applications IMO.

Linear pumps seem to hold up to the sustained static pressure much better over time and don't sound like someone screaming in your grow space.

BTW, nice UC DIY

thanks bro the metal trellis screen u can find anywhere from home depot, lowes, etc.

i might just have to now. i had been concerned about the light leaks.

ya exactly the ww-39 model. theres larger and smaller units available.

i would say the draw back is the noise. doesnt help that the room its housed in currently doesnt have much in it so its louder then shit. now that ive got it hooked up to test my air application i can plan a pump house. we had ran 2x 110L air pumps and it didnt cut the air input i wanted so we upgraded to the blower.
i do plan to wrap the buckets now that im more concerned with light leaks.
i dont think ive seen a heavy16 run with the UC systems yet either and ive been using a diff handle for over a year here on thcfarmer. but heavy shows promising results and great customer care to go with the lineup.

ya screaming would be a good way to put it. to the point that ive hit up there customer care to see if it was a defect lol. i guess building a pump house to sound proof is the best option so far. in time. funds are tight so gotta be smart with ish first.

glad to see u swingin by. always appreciate the input and will prob need it. thats why im bak online to get suggestions from experienced UC growers and share my grow story for others.

I'll do it in a couple of days when I throw in a massive update - upgrading everything before my first run (I'm a loon) and changing over to HP aero.

Good times, and again, good to see you back.

quick upgrades

went ahead and picked up some more Frost King duct insulation wrap to finish covering the top 1/3 of the buckets. i did a light leak test and i can see how the white buckets leak HID lighting. not direct lighting but it seems to light up the buckets like a lamp almost. im not sure how worried to be about algae issues if i only wrap the remaining 1/3 side of the buckets and leave the top lids... in theory once vegged into the screen and lollipopped, the canopy should be more then dense enough to block out light. but thats not for a few weeks into veg... so before then is wat concerns me. any suggestions wat to cover my lids with but still allow access to the inside/roots? (my lids fold up on one side)

Also went ahead and insulated wrapped my cooling coils hard pipes to help keep the chiller rez temp steady and avoid over running it.

I have Power Kush femd seedlings vegging in my ezcloner right now and doing sum mini scrog LST to get things rolling.

Waiting on a buddy whos cloning out sum Pre 98 Bubba for me and hope we get vegging in the next 2weeks.

With your air pump being so loud. Could you make a sound proof box and make a air intake sort of like how a car would be. This would make it a hell of a lot quieter. A easy way is frame up a box and use sound board x2 and use 3-4 inch pvc and use a round car intake filter. I bet you would not hear anything but passing air.

i was at homedepot today lookin at the foam and sound board they carry but no one was sure if itd do wat im looking to do. im trying to find time to research pump house designs. but building an enclosure builds heat so i like the concept of doing sumthing like an airfilter intake system like u mentioned. ill have to def do sum more research and see what i can find.

Boom, I'm gonna have the exact same problem in a couple of days when I need to construct a sound deadening enclosure for my new diaphragm pump (from what I understand, they're loud as fuck) - will be interested to see what you come up.
