I had a peice of plastic fall against my hps bulb. Now the end has a big glob of plastic melted to it. A brand new expensive one. Anyone know a good way to remove it?

You could try soaking it in acetone/nailpolish remover. Not the entire bulb just that spot. It might unfuck it. You can try pretty much anything Chemical, since its glass it will be chemically inert. Just dont try scratching it off with anything. The worst thing you can do is scratch the glass, would be better off leaving the plastic on the bulb! 🤣

Good luck mang

OK. Just worried since even skin oil is bad

Any solvent like acetone, lacquer thinner, isopropyl, paint thinner, MEK or anything like that, will not only not leave oils behind, they will take any oils away.

I would use acetone first. It's cheap, it removes oils and stuff it's not as brutal at lacquer thinner but should work if not the thinner should.
