Bulb Replacement, how often?

How often do you replace your bulbs?
Every grow? Two grows? Or do you keep track of hours?

If bulbs seem expensive...maybe once or twice a year. If bulbs are the cheapest thing you gotta buy..maybe replace every 2-3 rounds. Personally, I get about 4 or 5 rounds out of a Super Eye Horti.

I've ran Eye Horit's for 2 years...Than I loosened up my tight ass and started buying Genesis bulbs every 2 rounds.

This is overkill, even for cheap bulbs. Four runs at 12/12 for budget HPS and Horti says ten to twelve months for theirs.

MH 600's and HPS 600's I change after the second lot. T5 / Flouros, maybe once a year, if that.

I found my best bang for the buck was to replace every year and than I sell the used bulb for 25$ Eye Hortilux, after using my light meter for 3 years that's what I do.

hey woodsmaneh have you noticed how some bulbs dim faster than others.
all i can think of is differance in manufactureing..quality control..

I switched to all eye horti's (about 8 months ago) and am planning on running each one about a year. I run big plants & just pulled 13 oz off a single plant (soil) under a 600 eye hort that was on its 4th 12/12 cycle.

I replace my 1000W every 9 months. I have never replaced a T5 yet [going on two years now] as it is only used for red cups from clones.
