@twist1, always a good idea to document everything.. and then later decide what to use for expenses and what not to (accountant can sort the details out, that is what we pay them for). Year by year its also great to see where you should try to cut the fat.. like when someone says they have a way to save you huge on electric, etc...

I use something similar for our company, attached is a very basic way to see how you did for the year, I would suggest using yours for all the details and then have another excel worksheet like mine for a really quick overview of how we did each year.
