Anyone in this biz needs to have lawyer money saved, the ability to not brag to others (harder than it sounds), and the understanding that jail might be in their future... your only as safe as the weakest link connected to you, almost always its someone that has something to lose gets pinched for some bs and tells the cops where your grow is in exchange for probation. Misdirection is the best tool to stay safe, anytime I meet someone no matter who it is I use a fake name and never give truthful facts about my personal life, I might say my name is dan from wherever and make up a job.....come to think of it, I've been doing that so long that I've become friends with people years ago that still think my name is something else and I'm from another place....I don't trust anyone.....I learned that a long time ago....

Good advise guys. Went out yesterday for supplies yesterday after being cold/snow bound for a few days. Had to pick up some perlite and rapid rooters from the grow store and started talking about markers to protect from bad bills. They said that markers aren't reliable any more and they don't use them. They gave me some advise on a few quick things to look for and said the newer bills were harder to copy. Hmmm...so much for that idea.

Just came out this morning that peeps could smoke openly on their own property if plain sight. Don' t care, thinking that will ultimately cause trouble and a pissed of neighbor could start calling leo on you. Will keep it out of sight around my house. Also they put a 12 plant per household limit on personal grows. Don't like that and will be hard to comply especially if you do your own clones. One good thing, leo won't be going door to door to check. They will act on complaints only. Right back to what you guys were talking about....keep it to yourself. Only a couple of people have seen what I do and it will stay that way.

Looking like it's gonna be a mess on Jan 1, only a dozen or so retail shops will be open then and its going to be complete chaos. Imagine thousands of stoner's standing in line for the first legal weed to be sold in this state and no place to get it. Will be like standing in line for black Friday. The rush is on boys and girls....free your mind and your ass will follow.

This whole government trying to take everything that makes a red cent bullshit is getting old......if the cops went door to door that would be like living in prison, 12oclock head count scumbags, show us your plants and then squat and cough,.... the government takes our freedoms in tiny pieces so nobody feels like they are losing anything......

And can you imaging how some of these folks feel...sitting in jail for crimes that are now sanctioned and taxed and OK'd by the very State (People) who imprisoned them? WTF is that shit?

That's what I'm saying, anyone in prison for marijuana crimes should all get new trials under current law, or the government should just say "hey you guys can go home now, we started selling the shit ourselves and if you want to start dealing again when you get home please come down to the court and pay your fee, o and don't forget your w2 form"......

If you were sitting in the crow bar hotel doing time right now you would have to be crazy out of your mind knowing you were in there and peeps were smoking weed in front of leo in Civic Center Park.

Meanwhile the fda continues to approve heroin type drugs in pill form, doctors hand it out like candy, people get addicted, the cops arrest them and state court tosses everyone in jail for problems created by the government who funds them ??,,rehab cost money to send people there and prison makes money for every bed they fill...? All we want is the to be left alone able to make our own choices, if i'm not hurting anyone and want to live on a farm, grow bud and never see another human again, I should not have to worry about choppers swooping in and men putting a bag over my head on the way to a cage where I lose years of my life.......taking years of a humans life should not be taken lightly, if you kill someone your taking all their years away and the government kills or take yours, but giving people 20, 30 years for drugs like its nothing is insane .....

I use cash, because I get lots, am going to take alteregos advise and get some markers. Will try office max before going to the net however. Have heard about fake $100 bills being passed around in the area so thinking it's probably a smart thing to do. Like $20's a lot better but for some reason everybody gives me $100's. Guess it makes people feel like rollers. Makes me feel like a target.

Up here we just had a rash of phoney 5's and 10's. I have a few brown markers I got from a lady friend who works at a bank.

The pens don't work, you can buy a read detector for cheap. This one is 40 bucks at staples.
Counterfeit Detection
Magner_MAG_II_4in1_Authenticator.jpg

Counterfeit detection devices are very popular banking supplies and can help discriminate real money from counterfeits. These devices are an important investment for banks to make when purchasing bank supplies. Counterfeit money is being illegally manufactured in such a way that sometimes the counterfeit features are not detectable by the human eye. In addition, without the currency discriminating machines, the process is very time consuming. The currency discriminators help speed up the process of clearing money, thereby speeding up the process of money exchange.

The Semacon S-960 Automatic Currency Authenticator was designed with state of the art measurement sensors and Semacon's SmartCert™ banknote analysis technology for the advanced detection of US counterfeit banknotes.

These machines are used by government and law enforcement agencies, banks, credit unions, casinos, retail stores and other industries. They feature heavy duty construction, precision accuracy and ease of use. They may be operated using the power cord or the internal rechargeable battery.

Ease of Use
The Semacon model S-960 Compact Automatic Currency Authenticator features a simple Pass/Fail indicator and eject direction control in a durable compact space saving design. Feeding a bill into the machine is done quickly and easily, followed by an immediate indication of the authentication results.

State of the Art Detection Technology
The S-960 utilizes Semacon's SmartCert™ leading edge technology including custom designed sensors to authenticate each banknote. The machine verifies the banknote paper density and size and checks both sides of the banknote for validity of the magnetic features, metameric infrared marks, ink properties and banknote infrared images. Banknote authenticity is based on an integral analysis of all measurements
taken, providing the highest counterfeit detection accuracy available in a compact point of sale machine.

Fast Processing and Results
Banknotes are processed at a rate of 80 per minute. Authenticated notes may be ejected through the rear of the machine or returned to the feed tray and cause the PASS indicator to be illuminated. Suspect notes are returned to the feed tray and cause the machine to beep and the FAIL indicator to be illuminated.

Rechargeable Battery
The S-960 features a rechargeable lithium-ion battery which enables the machine to be used with or without an AC power cord. While plugged in the battery is automatically recharged. While in battery mode the machine will operate for 10 - 14 hours depending on the frequency of use.

Upgrades
This model can be easily upgraded to handle any future banknote releases which may be issued by the Federal Reserve Bank.

Even thought th banks and naby places still use the, the pens are a bit antiquated now that people are bleaching out smaller bills and printing larger bills on them. The pens only tests the paper not the ink…

I have no idea whether bank pens are any better than store bought ones..i just got them for free.

If I get hundreds from a bank I check them out right there at the teller. Besides the pen there are lots of ways to look for the bogus ones.

I don't like at all how this recent legalization effort was so focused on tax revenue. We have been treated like 3rd class citizens for generations, all of us cannabis lovers and now they want to flip that on its head only because they have become so desperate for tax revenue that it's all that matters? EFFF YOUUU you freakin jerks.

Would I jump at the chance to be a certified legal grower in WA or CO? Probably, but mostly cuz I have been having a hell of a hard time finding ANY work. Honestly I would rather be underground and outta site, growing for the black market which is nicely enhanced by at least Washington's idiotic pricing scheme and the 75% tax rate, 25% at each level from production to retail.

Bro these bloodsucking sons-a-bitches will go anyplace to get money, nothing is off limits, nobody is safe!!!! If they really gave a shit about the current state of our economy, state and federal employees, politicians , and whoever else is making a 6 figure annual salary would raise their hands for cutbacks, instead all we see is them voting in new ways to take more money and still keep the people who have been fighting for this cause beat and battered...the fact is, this country is more than capable of being self sufficient. We are strong, and smart when not being blinded by government propaganda, they are driving us into the ground for whatever reason. If people think they are going to let us have the medical marijuana market, or even get a fair share to it,,they are too kind for their own good..the only reason they are letting people somewhat have a part in it is because we have been here and already have a black market. When they get up to speed and are able to fully takeover , watch out!! These days we live in right now are the transition stage to a government takeover...people need to stop giving the government so much trust, they have been using americans. The voice of the people no longer counts in this new world, they do what they want, when they want...

The counterfeit detector pen is extremely simple. It contains an iodine solution that reacts with the starch in wood-based paper to create a black stain. When the solution is applied to the fiber-based paper used in real bills, no discoloration occurs. The pen does nothing but detect bills printed on normal copier paper instead of the fine papers used by the U.S. Treasury.
