Can my rockwool Plugs soak while I am on vacation

What's the longest amount of time (Within reason) you could soak one and a half inch Rock wool Starters?

Does anyone know why they suggest 24 hours max

I believe the moisture gradient is the reason you would not want to do the long soak.

In the article it mentions the lower portion of the Rockwool having more moisture and the top is dryer and it enabled the seedling to breath. I imagine that if you soak longer that 24 hours you might over saturate the plug. I'm just guessing.
