Cannot stabilize temp/rh/vpd and in need of some advice.

Don’t overthink it too much but just play around with the settings. Sometimes your equipment works too much against eachother so maybe tune your humidifier to kick on earlier or later depending on the situation and set your exhaust parameters to a higher temp or humidity before turning on. You can always have a constant pull of fresh air into your tent using the ac infinity but have the setting lower or higher or you can have it not pulling at all and when your humidity rises to the set parameter it will kick on and give you the air exchange you need. Like someone else said it really depends on where you are at and what challenges you’re facing . With LEDs you can run you room hotter so I have my ac infinity kick on heavier when it gets past 84 degree F.

Do you use a controller for your humidifier like an Inkbird or is it just always running and you let the ac infinity exhaust when needed? This will cause the issue where you have a lot of back and forth. If you have a controller set it to like 57 (if 60 is your target RH) bc by the time the sensor updates and gets the correct info you’ve already overshot your target RH. Just some tinkering and you will be golden

Also, I originally had temp/rh/vpd parameters set but I found that if I run the exhaust fan on a timer basis that the stats “leveled” out to somewhat of a better degree. I honestly feel as if should probably get a bigger tent at the end of the day. Right now though, the 3x3x5 is what I’m working with.

I also wanted to chime in and say those averages are pretty good imo and the up and down spikes are normal. If you have central ac you can tap into or a window/portable will help cool things off too. But really those numbers are fine especially if you have your lights at 100%

I know on countless websites they say not to worry about vpd so much as worrying about mastering the basics but in my opinion, I feel as if that is a basic requirement to gain understanding to learn how to master the craft in order to maximize results and not wasting time and money! Would you guys agree?

Yes but think about it this way...you could waste time and money trying to tame the vpd when alot of others have good results without worrying about it so much. Imo it can't hurt but there are other more critical things such as heat, light, rh, dew point....vpd and psi are worth trying to shoot for...but they are kinda under the heat, light, rh, and dew point for me...I honestly don't even mess with dew point just make sure to never hit it and risk mold in my tent but I monitor that more than I do my vpd

I use a sensor push system and it tells me a 24hour average and I look at it but don't care if I'm at 1.1 or 1.6....I've never been too far outta that range tho so idk how bad things can get

Thank you! I have a groplanner 150w at 60% per the manufacturers recommendation for veg. I did notice the leaves curling up a little bit but I think that’s from the fan I have. I had an issue where the plant fell over on its side kind of when I watered last and use my fan on the inside to direct more airflow to strengthen her. I posted pics on another thread and everyone said she looks healthy. I just checked it a few minutes ago when lights came on and noticed the leaves. I redirected the fan to blow more toward the wall now to see if that helps. Really hoping no root rot, pests etc!!! Fingers crossed

Are all the leaves curling up as in the lower leaves as well? Or just upper leaves? If just upper could be light stress

Try carefully folding the tops downward and opening up lower areas to light to give the taller curling tips a bit of a rest...or turn light down (this is if just top leaves are curling...and maybe this branch bending can wait idk that I remember how big your plants are)

Edit: I wouldn't bend them until they are like a month or better old

Thank you and it just appears to be the top leaves. I also came home to this as well… I’m honestly thinking the root ball is weak and I could potentially have root rot. What’s your opinion?

Looks like it leaned over from watering or something I'd stand it up, just kinda press around the stem base try to give it a little support

I have a similar system. I had issues with 2 different space heaters. I switched to an electric-oil filled radiant heater a small unit with a variable thermostat, it doesn’t dry the air as much as the space heaters. So I can control the humidity better, more stable. Then I went with a RH adjustable humidifier, small differences can make things much more stable.

Hello all! I am posting this to try to get some advice. I currently have a 3x3x5 tent. I have been struggling to stabilize temp/rh/vpd. I currently have an ac infinity cloud line t4 with a smart controller 69 and carbon filter. I have a space heater and a humidifier as well as a clip on fan(doesn’t oscillate). I currently have a passive intake setup. I have been trying everything I can in terms of opening the airflow port on the tent. Opening it all of the way, halfway, a quarter of the way etc and nothing seems to work in terms of stabilizing temp/rh/vpd. I’m starting to worry about things.. Here is a screenshot of how the readings look on ac infinity app. From my understanding the lines are supposed to be smooth with no major dips/spikes.. I’m keeping my lung room at a lower temp(66 F) to promote proper airflow. Does anyone have any ideas/advice that they can provide to me? I’ve done extensive research and can’t seem to find anything that works.

I've spent the last week fighting the same thing. I'm in my gar. with a 4x5 tent. I'm running 2 diff. brands of lights, dehumidifier, heater, and exhaust fan/filter. I have controlled readings now but I'm running a little warmer than I would like. I'm 4 weeks into flower and just want to get to the finish line. Growing more MAC Stomper from clones of last run. My last run turned out TOP SHELF my friend. I'll be farming outside very soon.

When I bought my humidifier I was looking at tank size + adjustable range....some only stay in the comfort zone of 45-55....I think mine goes between 40-80%, it links to my phone and I can turn all the displays completely off tap of a button (nice for not having to tape over display)

Dehumidifier I went with a 50 pint with a drain hose since most tanks are small. Wanted one that could pull quite a bit in a 24hr. Glad I did, she has enough power to shut off quite frequently and save wattage

Oil heater hooked up to a thermostat controller that allows you to adjust when it kicks on and off...so if I set my temp to 78...I can set it to kick on at 77, 76, 70...whenever I want...I found 2 degree variance is pretty nice

I've heard good things about the tube green house heaters they have in the Uk....seems to be a hard thing to get here...you can order them from UK but then you need an adapter plug to convert the different plug standards, if someone would produce these I think their would be a market...hmm...they are oil filled as well I believe
