Chitosan Dosage

Just got some Chitosan in the mail.... Does anyone have experience making an effective foliar spray? What concentration do you use? I dont think I can overdo it, but its expensive and I dont want to waste.

Not familiar with the product itself. Crab meal is super high in chitin and wards off fungus gnats. Might be a cost effective alternative. FYI
