Howdy THC Farmers!

I would like to throw this out there now to get a head start for next year. Are you interested in farming hemp? Want to learn, work, and experience farm/ranch life? Deadstill Hemp Solutions is seeking a few good folks to assist in 2023. We are a veteran and family owned and operated industrial hemp farm and OTG (Off the Grid) ranch. Currently accepting resumes for interns for the 2023 season.

We are located 50 miles from Colorado Springs, CO (and the nearest gas station/convenience is 30 miles). Applicants will be required to either A) live in the area and have reliable transportation or B) live on my ranch. I have 80 acres and spare bedrooms in multiple houses, or you can camp in a tent, bring an RV/camper, etc. Food, rent, and utilities included. For the time being this is an unpaid- "Earn Your Keep" internship. As we are still a very young company and our 2022 harvest is still a few months out, I cannot promise any pay at this time. I can promise a roof over your head, electricity for your entertainment and other needs, a stocked pantry and refrigerator, and a safe place to live and work.

Once we reach Thanksgiving or so (harvest and sell this year's crop) I should have more details on possible pay. This may work out to be either an hourly pay rate, or a percentage of the 2023 harvest profits. I am a partially disabled Army vet with no pension (F. the V.A.) - I just started this company in 2020 and up till now it's just been me and the wife, with a couple friends helping out here and there. This year I am 100% on my own as my wife is taking care of business elsewhere, and I'm starting to feel the weight on my shoulders trying to manage close to 2,000 plants all on my own - so I figured I'd get a head start on looking for help for next year.

Basic requirements -

Must be over 18
Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
NO DRUGS (Except weed of course, which isn't a drug anyway)... NO ALCOHOL on my property - do it on your own time, just not on my property. ZERO tolerance policy.
No fighting, violence, etc. Hostiles will be escorted off my property at gun point. You have been warned.
Pets allowed as long as you can control them. We have LOTS of ranch cats so if you have a dog that eats cats that's a NO GO. Fenced in yards and kennels are available.
NDA - All potential visitors, employees, interns, etc. Will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement - (What happens on the Ranch stays on the Ranch)

Must be able to work long days and odd hours. We get temperatures >90 degrees F. with intense sun at an elevation of approximately 6,000 feet. We work smarter, not harder. You may be required to work nights (you don't want to be in the fields at 3:00 in the afternoon, TRUST me)

No experience necessary. This is a family environment and a safe place to live and work. Yes, you may bring your wife and kids, etc. We can provide room and board on a case-by-case basis.
No background check required - I don't care if you have a record - unless you have violent sexual predator charges, please look elsewhere. (And don't lie, I will find out- we have children here and I will stop at nothing to protect them)

If you are looking for a great paying job with benefits and medical coverage - this is not for you.

If you are looking for a place to live where you can earn your keep, learn the in's and out's of industrial hemp farming, enjoy a beautiful view of the entire Front Range of the Colorado Rockies, in a peaceful, friendly environment, and the possibility to earn a real, full time, full benefits position at DHS - this is for you!

I'm NOT looking for "master growers", "breeders" or "consultants". I am the swinging dick here and if you do not like my methods you are free to leave at any time. I am a fair, but stern taskmaster. I am not a drill sergeant, and I am certainly not your mother. Interns will be required to clean up after themselves and perform daily chores around the ranch. If you cannot carry your own weight and contribute, or you cause problems or extra work for myself or others - you will be asked to leave. I will never ask you to do anything I would not, could not do myself. I am a very compassionate, understanding person and if you give me 100%, I'll give you 100%.

So. That being said - I am not Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos. I cannot promise to make you rich. However, when the time comes to hire real employees, managers, etc. - Interns will be first in line for those positions. We are currently working with a bank to secure a business loan for 2023 season. The outcome of this may significantly impact our ability to hire real, paid employees. So check back here in the future for further updates - I will provide as much information as I can between now and the start of the season 2023 (around April 2023).

P.S. - Also, all the weed you can smoke available on-site ;)

Interesting opportunity for the right person(s). Good luck with your project.

Maybe you can put a flyer on the dispensary locally or something too.

Or maybe put a flyer on the place where farmers and farm-hands go to get their goods...

damn, if I were 10 years younger, I'd jump on this. Grew up south of Albuquerque on a ranch, and had family in Durango. Good luck on the search, finding hardworking individuals that will view this as something of potential will be rough in today's climate.

Howdy Farmers!

Just a little update on how things are going on my end..

I am currently in the works of negotiating a deal with a CBD company located here in Colorado. They have an established CBD business and until now they typically sourced their CBD hemp from outside sources. They are looking to "vertically integrate" starting this year and asked me if I would be interested in growing a crop of CBD hemp for them. They told me they already have 70k seeds of a proprietary strain they are hoping to get someone to grow for them.

If things work out the way I hope and think they will, this could be a very lucrative opportunity for my Hemp Farm and anyone who wants in on this with me.

The above (original post) still mostly applies, however, with this deal, there is a VERY good chance I will be able to PAY employees!!

So, if you're seriously interested in getting in on the ground floor of a growing hemp business, hit me up. At this point in time I cannot make any promises on wages, etc. But once I get further along with this CBD company and find out exactly what kind of figures we're talking about, I will be able to elaborate more on potential wages for potential employees.

Thanks, Farmers!
