In my introduction of myself I was basically told to hang it up and buy it! THIS IS NOT AN OPTION> I do not possess those kind of funds nor any avenue of making them. I do however, possess a sound mind with an IQ of 135-143 anytime I have taken tests. So if nothing else can someone point me to a good beginners book on cannabis.

So here is the thing: I have never planted a plant in my life. LOL I also have never smoked anything in my life. Never been tipsy or even put many aspirin or ibuprofen or tylenol, and not a single antibiotic in my body my whole life. Literally like a handful of drugs in my system in 55 years. And I am somehow typeII diabetes. And my wife is suffering AVN and will be cripple if we can not find a way to help her. We saw a show on cannabis and how it had helped both our conditions and figured we would give it a try. So our state has gone medical approved cannabis. Which with her medical use only license. WONT GIVE ME ONE!! We are allowed to buy at dispensaries ($300 an ounce) not happening I just dont have that kind of $. And we are allowed 6 plants. Anyway long story short we were given some utopia haze, mighty might, and some black market plant no clue. But it came with some bud that was given and we hesitated to plant cause it was serious couch lock (I believe you guys call it). I actually thought I was dying. But wife didnt have near the issues with it I did just knocked her out!!! I was actually praying the father would take me home!! SO NOT MY STRAIN! We were looking more into Sativa stuff. Anyhow wouldnt you know of all the plants which I got seeds ands started very late in june the black market is the one that is doing best. LOL
So try to keep it short and just say my UH seems to be a wash unless I can get some help. I am not sure how but the soil which was just cheap basic peat, compost mulch mix looking organic stuff from our local place has a PH of 8. Now my well water is well over 9. SO i am guessing what you guys call nute lockout. But I have tried epsom salt and PH down at recommended dose I have read on here. Waited several days and nothing. SO after a week did double dose and still i have nothing and soil still hovering 7.5-8. I did purchase Roots Organics budda bloom and try a small dose with the last watering with no results. The strains that lean more indica are doing much better but seem also to just be completely locked in place on their development. Let me add that we have had a very wet year here in OK so most of the water has been from rain until august. So my well should not have affected it much. If anything it was getting flushed and too much rain water. We got some serious down pours. But no it isn't fungus. I have dug down and roots are nice eggshell color. I fear it is too late for the UH unless someone like Uncle Ben that I have read a few threads from or some horticulture specialist can give me some miracle. I probably held off too long not wanting to be a bother to others. I know people have plenty of problems of their own.

In this post I will give you the UH pics and see if they are even savable. Let me note that the lady that gave us the seeds talked big. She called it her strain. LOL But after talking to her a bit I found out the bud she had given us which seemed to do nothing was from plants she grew in straw and said she watered every morning with soaker hose while getting ready for work. So I think that is why it had no potency which is why I was gonna try to do some improvements with soil and notes. Did her method of growth transfer into the DNA of the plants somehow. Wouldnt think that was possible but some things I read on here make it sound like it could. I would have to have that one proven to me being a breeder for my entire life and third generation. Anyhow someone that knows how to tag or someone that knows their stuff please can you find me

Wow! I didnt look through those pics before posting. They are really blurry. Here are some new ones that are a bit better.

Let me note that the little meter I bought for PH also has a fertilizer option and they are not even showing up on it. Not sure what it would even measure if just Nitrogen or what. But I dont know how that would be possible. Also soil started at 7. And I have put Epsoma organic soil acidifier for blueberry crops. Seemingly it has done nothing. Also added a cup of dolomite in the 40 gallon plastic pot which has lots of drain holes, and about 5/8 to the 20 gallon bags; which my understanding was that it would not raise PH. I just cant figure out why nothing is lowering the PH of the soil. I went drastic on PH down and Lemon juice (for citric acid) making the water about 3.5 and after 2 weeks still about 7.5. The strange thing is the plant that seemed hardest hit of the two and lost virtually all its leaves seems to have put on new leaves that are very small and already starting to look burnt at the ends. With our extreme heat do I maybe need to move them where they are partly shaded by the trees since this would be more like their natural state of growth. I mean I cant believe I am having this much trouble I can remember hiking in CO as a young man and seeing a whole patch of it along the trail. I could just invasion a nature lover back in the 60's hiking that trail and pulling out his stash to roll a joint and flicking out a seed and viola! LOL

These books seem to be great outdated and wrong or everyone on here is wrong. LOL Since they mention K-mart I will assume they are dated and maybe pre medical strain development or something. Since i know very little hard for me to say. But this statement seems to be waaaay off. I mean my understanding is the seed is either male or female and soil PH would not affect this.

Soil
Your prime concern, after choosing high quality seeds, is the soil. Use the best soil you can get. Scrimping on the soil doesn’t pay off in the long run. If you use non-sterilized soil you will almost certainly find parasites in it, probably after it is too late to transplant your marijuana. You can find excellent soil for sale at your local plant shop or nursery, K-Mart, Wal-Mart, and even some grocery stores. The soil you use should have these properties for the best possible results:
  1. It should drain well. That is, it should have some sand in it and also some sponge rock or pearlite.
  2. The pH should be between 6.5 and 7.5 since marijuana does not do well in acidic soil. High acidity in soil encourages the plant to be predominantly male, an undesirable trait.

No it has female parts. will try to get a pic. Both seeds from the same female plant
As you can see on the sativa dominant UH the pistil is burnt and shriveled. On the more indica mighty might it is visible. But all looked the same before bloom. And now even on the mighty might that is in heavier bloom the pistils are shriveling. I have no clue why. But the last picture (the darkest plant) is of the mighty might that has just started flowering stage. But at one time all the plants looked like this. Am I wrong is that not a female?

Sorry guy don't mean to piss on your parade but I can identify at least 5 sites that have pollen sacks. That means either male or Hermaphrodite There really are only a couple of logical explanations for this:

1 It was a male from the get go
2 It turned on you due to a number of factors including STRESS.

Ok so must have turned due to the stress. It has looked pale green like this for weeks and you can see where the pistils have pretty much burned away. IT was easily identifiable as the pistils were a3/16" long at one point. I mean the lady telling me how to identify was like get a magnifying glass. I was like hell my eyes aint that bad. But that must be why this plant is throwing off dust when I touch it. Pollen. Which means it is stopping my other from having a good harvest correct?
if you look closely at this picture you can see where the two pistils were and have turned dark and withered.

SO now this is a male plant. Thank you I didnt know they could turn to males.

I went and circled the two pistils with purple the red circle is where I cut off a fan leaf back when it first started yellowing.

That is a Male plant kill it! Know your plants. Marijuana has both female and Male. The Male is worthless unless your trying to get seed. The female is the flower which is what you dry and smoke. Couch lock can be avoided if you harvest before the trichomes turn amber. Trichomes can be seen through a jewelry loop.

Those were not pistils. They were just new nodes trying to grow. All I see is male plants.

Read Ed Rosenthals grow book in the free list. It has all the info you need.
Man dude dont get so harsh. They looked exactly like the plant above a month ago. Before we went on a 105 degree stretches. So are you saying they couldn't have turned male from stress.
I do not believe they were nodes. I sexed every single plant the same as I sexed the one in this picture. So if these are not pistils than yes I am wrong and more than willing to admit it. But if they are then no those were not new nodes. Those were pistils at one time that have since withered. And they are all over that plant. And I have others that have started to wither also. SO now thinking I may end up with many males. Which i had never even read that they could change due to stress.

Maybe you should re read your answer to my first post. It is you with the closed mind here. Everyone is telling you the same thing.

Then read the basics at least about the plant. If you have neighbors that grow you may have already pollenated their crop.
