cutting question

hi all....if you take a cutting and want to sex it while the plants are vegging, do the cuts need to be rooted before you put them in 12/12.... or do you put them right in the rapid rooter and straight in........also if you put them straight in 12-12 will they split their energy to root and show sex or how does this work...anyone's help would be appreciated.......thanks in advance.

you can root them under 12/12 and they will show sex fast but I don't know how much faster than the clones that are rooted in 18/6 or 24/0 and then put to 12/12.

Now how the clones that are rooting straight in 12/12 will grow depends on genetics.

Slow sativas will still do their 'veg' for few weeks and will only start to flower some time has passed but indicas seem to respond more fast and they start in a week or so after 12/12 is induced.

Mother plants maturity also plays a role on flowering onset and maturity time.
