Hi All,

I am looking to make a small space like a small tent or a large cupboard to hold cuttings/clones and possibly a mother plant.

I don’t want them to grow very much but I don’t want them on the edge of death either. Basically I want to keep them in stasis until the plants grown from seed have flowered and cured so I can decide which cuts to keep and grow, and which to discard.

Can plants be kept in a slow growth cycle?
How much light do they need? Can I use CFLs or do I need real lights?
What do I feed them and how often?

Thanks for your help, I really do appreciate it.

Sure, you can 'slow' them down compared to the frenzied pace most growers strive for.

I've used CFLs for vegging my clones with success. I used 3x 75w equivalent (I think) 5000K CFLs in a 2'x2' (ish) area.

Use the same nutes you use for veg, just in smaller amounts. You can trim the plant to keep the height down, which will also increase branching. I have a mom that's going on a year now in a 3 gal fabric pot. She's a foot tall and looks like a little bonsai tree. I'd snap a pic but it's dark time in there.

Good luck.
