Do I need any specific type of perlite?

I’m just about to transfer and was wondering. I’m using a 50/50 mix of happy frog and ocean Forrest and then I plan to mix some perlite as well. I was just wondering if I need any specific perlite or will just about any do?

What brand were you looking at. As long as it’s large (?) and not tiny you should be good. If I’m wrong someone will correct me lol

I use pumice about 3/8 diameter it stays put perlite will float to the top easier

And they can mine pumice without digging into the earth less environmental impact I've read so I go that route

Large or medium work good, it is 'fine' or #1 perlite you should avoid (usually). The bigger the perlite is, the less water it holds.
