Does anyone know where I might be able to acquire one? I found a blog, where the guy that ran Earthworks, said the records show, they made 462,000 or them. So there should be a few still floating around. My brother gave me one, as I recall, in '73. It was stolen around '80. Would really like to get another...now that it's legal here in Washington state.

Just woke from another dream of my father and his Old Man Bong. The best water pipe me and all my friends ever tried. My dad told me how back when it was mostly new he was cleaning it with a McDonalds straw and broke a little chip from the air goes threw the water. It bubbled with a deep sound, and had the smoothes easiest draw i have ever experienced. Still cant believe i found this page! Even if its years from now if someone has one for sale please message me. My family does castings and would like to make copies. [email protected]

I've got a a mint condition 1972 earthworks old bang bong nicknamed "Father Time." That I may be interested in selling. See earlier post for pictures. I also have a mint condition 3' Bamboo bong from the early 70's made by Thaibong. Post up some offers if you are interested and we can chat. Thanks,
Matt

my neighbor gave me a earthworks 1972 water bong has anybody heard of them
I worked at earthworks for fun, not for pay.I was a major distributor of smoking paraphernalia (Dope Pipes) at the time and my friend BILL Gurley was manager of earthworks which was located on a highway 2 miles northwest of Bloomington Indianna.

Did you ever find any info out on your piece??? I would be interested in your findings. My dad gave me his old earthworks water bong. No date stamp, just Earthworks engraving on the bottom. He said it was from the 60s. Awesome piece, resembles father time, definatly hand made.

I have one identical to yours. My mother gave it to me for my16th birthday. I gave it to my son for his 16th birthday! He still has it and I'm hoping one day he hands to his son...that will be in 15 years!

I bought one in Webster Groves, Mo at a very cool head shop in 1974 for $12 and named it, duh, Merlin. Best pipe I have ever owned. Unfortunately dropped it a year ago and it cracked. Have all the parts but do not have a clue how to put it back together, if it is possible. Any help would be appreciated.

You can copy any of my old bongs or hand pipes all you want, in glass or in ceramic I don't care anymore, its been almost 30 years ago. Yeah we made almost a half million of these (probably more counting the defects that never shipped) and never once sold them wholesale for less than $5.00 each. They retailed for $10-$12 back in the '70s and that was real money then. But we hit the market just right, got into the bong market as the first and only ceramic bong and pipe makers, and got the two largest distributors of head shop supplies (Adams Apple out of Chicago and Berney-Karp from LA) to not only carry our bongs and hand pipes but to prominently feature the Old Man Bong in their catalog and advertising. We had other smaller distributors all over the country and a number of sales reps. The company had about 30 full time employees making bongs and pipes, and yeah out in the country where we were, we grew some serious buds.
A friend of mine bought this bong in 72. I believe. I have recently bought one. For nostalgia. It has the recessed bottom.
Earth Works is spelled with the OM symbol. It has no year on bottom. Could you please. Elaborate a little about this.
Thank you. Thanks for the memories.
