Overview
So I recently started growing weed and since it's obviously illegal here, I doubt I could get proper genetics shipped. That's why I'm using left over seeds from pickups. I doubt I will grow anything amazing since the quality of the ganja in this country isnt all too great and I'm very inexperienced with this. Most people dont even know shit about the plant, you could ask a dealer "Do you have any sativas?" and he would respond "Sativa? I dont have sativa I have weed." :/ Its actually depressing how little variety there is. What you get is what you get. Most of the weed is indica dominant hybrids though it is surprising since you would expect sativas in Africa. It makes sense that growers choose indicas and dont touch landrace sativas due to the shorter flowering time and height. But even among indicas its rare to find consciously bred varieties. That doesnt mean all the weed is the same though, people just treat it like it is. There is almost always a 100% chance that your not smoking the same weed if you buy it from different sources. There are strains with different highs that I want to try to grow and breed exclusively. I started collecting seeds and labeled them according to where I got them from and plan on treating them as if they were my own "psuedo-landrace" strains to breed F1's. I'm still far off from breeding though. I'm bad at growing the plant in the first place, my first grow failed horribly due to stupid mistakes which is why I joined this site and began researching online more and watching videos relating to pretty much everything about growing weed. Anyways, here is what I'm growing at the moment. I didnt get a chance to smoke the weed from which the seeds came from but a friend gave them to me. He usually smokes the most sleepy and hard hitting indicas he could find so I more or less have an idea of what I'm growing. Two of them come from the same pickup while one of them came from another batch. The first two came with some kief and residue which had a heavy chocolately smell so I'm excited about growing that. Not much else is known about the other one. I still have a far ways off to go and hope to get guidance during my grow so I dont mess up again. One of the plants from the chocolate weed ended up growing 3 finger leaves on the first set of leaves so I am really hopeful this mutant will be something new, who knows maybe it will grow 15 finger leaves once it matures.
Setup
Its gonna be pretty clear that I am on a budget. Even if I had the money I couldnt find grow tents, pH testers, and HID lamps easily here. So I just used soil from my garden. Im not sure about the pH but I used clay soil in my previous grow which is more alkaline so I'm guessing this would be a bit more acidic. Its got composted cow manure and is dark and rich so I expect that it wont be as bad. For lighting, I was using 3 LED light bulbs at a total of 170 watts, two were 65 and one was 40 but the latter stopped working and I'll get that replaced soon. I want to get as much watts as possible but as I said I'm on a budget. And for air conditioning, take a guess at what I'm doing lol.

The first two are the ones from the chocolate flavored weed. I took these pictures around day 12. Growth is quite slow and I suspect it was because I was barely opening the windows so there wasnt a good flow of carbon dioxide. I cant be around the plants 24/7 so I'm considering getting a fan. I'm leaving the windows open more often now. No one can see the plants easily so I'm not worried about security at the moment. Or it could have been an improper watering system. I would let the soil absorb water from its drainage holes by filling a plastic bag with water in which I put the pots in. The soil would constantly stay moist and I wasnt certain it would be a problem until a few days ago when I thankfully was shown the error of my ways on this forum and began doing a dry/wet cycle. I'm not sure if I should be scared about the slow growth and if it will continue this way. The one on the left is growing much bigger than the other two which I guess is maybe lucky genetics. I dont think strain genetics are stabilized that well here so I'm expecting some variability with my plants. The three leaf mutant is also something to look at. I'm not sure exactly suspect from this one. I'm also aware that roots are sensitive to light which is why I wrapped a sheet of paper around the pots as seen in the third pic. The first two were taken before I did that.
