i don't think raising it will matter. the roots will grow out of the block and hang until they get into the hole which the water source is.
you also need to cover the top of the lid since its yellow until the plant is grown enough that would cover the top. Light will penetrate through those lids

Definitely a learning as I go thing. I need to get some black totes or something next grow. Here is the current gg auto from tentcam. Doing OK so far. Day 31 around.
