Hey all,

Just wondering if you've ever seen anything like this, looking for advice.

This is my first grow, seems to be going quite well (they're not dead) (approximately 1mth/2wk from seed).

Only thing is, two of my plants (one in particular) is very short/tight internodes and EXTREMELY bushy. They all have tight internodes but one of them is off the charts bushy... it was bushy, I topped (all of 'em, at 4th node) a week ago and ever since it's just gotten crazy.

Will this get any better? Should I defoliate during veg? I did some LST a couple days ago and tucked all big fan leaves under the new/smaller growth, but the fan leaves are pretty much sitting on/close to the coco now. I would mainline but unfortunately on a tight veg schedule due to reasons.. only have ~3 weeks left. May top again, not sure?

Any other general advice for a noob? I've done years of research but Dunning Kruger...

Thank you.

General info:
- ~30 DLI (18/6) under 2x 240W Kingbrite LED's, they start taco-ing if I turn up any more
- constant temps of ~25°c+ (can't control heat any more unfortunately)
- Autopots, ~5.7PH in the pots (5.6 in res) with airdomes running.
- Trying to stay within optimal VPD (~58-70% humidity).
- running Cherry Oreoz by Reverse Genetics
-nutes: Green Planet Dual Fuel running autopot feeding chart. Used Silica before hooking up to autopots. Slight nute burn on some new growth, running ~550PPM. May be early nitrogen tox but overall they're happy so I'm leaving it be for now.
- 4x4 tent.

Probably a little too much light Intensity, but definitely genetics as well. Just make sure in flower you remove enough to give them air flow. Also keep the humidity quite low in flower so mold and whatnot can't even think of survival. Then you should be fine, I bet she has some big ass buds in the end. Kicking ass my friend 😎

Thanks for your input and time mate.

Maybe I'll play with the lights a little and see how they react to turning them down slightly.

Will definitely be getting a dehumidifier and doing more research into defoliation before flip!

Also your buds look amazing, exactly what I'm trying to accomplish! Take care growmie ✌️

The kind words are very much appreciated and humbling. I love the willingness to learn! Best of luck growmie ✌

What's the media? Just guessing here, but one possibility, based on the plant shape, and the texture and thickness in the leaves, is over-watering. Autopots and other "always on" watering systems are great for some media, like coco, which don't hold onto water so hard. There are some soils and soil mixes which are hypoxic at field saturation. With those, Autopots can be auto-overwatering. Just one possibility.

Hey Codger, thanks for your time mate.

Medium is 70/30 Coco perlite. Also air airdomes running. I'm stumped lol. 🤷

Through my searches I've seen some really tight nodes (some say it's favourable, others not) but the one in question here is ridiculous lol.

The (4000k) lights also have UV/IR (like ~20% +660nm reds) so theoretically they should be stretching more than they are.

The only thing I can think of is genetics and the temp being constant throughout day/night - but I'm also new to this so lots of speculation.

It can be tough to tell, especially in the early going, and even later in your journey if you're running genetics that are new to you. Even coco can give us fits with watering if it's not rinsed well. The good news is your plants look to be otherwise healthy.

Add some red if you want it to stretch more, Cheap red leds in veg will give more space between nodes, They will add to stretch if used in flower mode and grow you out of space quickly but in veg you can just keep watch on them and turn off the reds when you have the of size you want before you flip them. Blue keeps them short and your light may have more blue spectrum

I have 6 in 15l auto pots going now about 10 days more before I flip. I use General Hydroponics 3 part + Diamond Nectar

Honestly don't want to spend any more money this round (I'm like ~5k down already lol), but I might do this next round if I have the same problem!

At work right now mate so not certain, but I believe around 60-65%. I've tried turning light up more, but even ~5% addition leads the leafs to start taco-ing out. I think I'm on the brink of pushing them like you said before... Poor girls 🤣
