Fabric pots, might use them outside, anything I should know?

So I'm debating between putting my girls in 15 gallon fabric pots or putting them directly into the ground. The only reason I'm thinking pots is in case I need to move them. Last year I did the plastic tubs, they were like 17 gallon I think. I used a layer of pea stone then my own soil mix, I buried the pots about halfway just to be incognito. Is it OK to treat the fabric pots in the same manner? Do they even need a layer for drainage? Would partially burying them hinder how they're supposed to operate? Do they need more frequent watering than traditional pots, and would partially burying them help retain moisture? Never used them, just looking for some insight.

I'd put a 6" layer of gravel bottom of hole.
