First grow. Hydro or soil?

How's things guys, i want to start my first grow. I dont have any experience i am a complete beginner. Ive done some research and im thinking of going with a dwc hydro system. Im thinking of going for a 48×48×80" tent and feminised seeds. Is a 200w LED enough or should i go stronger. Any tips/advice and any estimated yields? Thanks in advance to anyone that helps!

Then maybe use coco then sort of a happy medium between DWC and soil still classified as hydro hard to overwater explosive growth dwc for a brand new grower is like giving someone on their l plates keys to an f1

Have not tried hydro. Still learning to be honest. I’m trying make perpetual grow as esy as can be . High yield would be great ! not in a crazy rush for a bounty

Hydro is clean and can be challenging but it has insane growth rates. I have a 5x5 tent with 4 site RDWC and I have a 1000W light in there's it's not about the power but about the coverage.

If you want to ignore the plant for a week go soil.if you want to work on it every day go hydro.hydro means calculating and using meters.

Hydro will give more flower.and since its allways wet faster growth.you could have same growth in soil but nobody keeps it petfectly wet 24/7

agree with above, you should learn to walk before you try running a 25 mile marathon. as my signature suggests

you must walk down many roads (funny how much it applies to growing weed). b4 you really hit your stride and find

what really works for & suits you.

If you want to do hydro, do it. Don't listen to all these dirty growers. I jumped into hydro head first to learn to grow and don't wish for a second I went dirt. Also, you do not have to mess with your plants every day with hydro, if you chose to you can. In fact with hydro, the right feed and a large enough resivor you can go much much longer than dirt without tending to your plants. If you want to do hydro, do it. You also won't have gnats and other bugs in your house hatching out of your soil.

Large reservoar slow changes.hard to find that sweetspot.you put 100ppm too much in 7 days that will burn the plant. I have 10L and 70L both cant be left alone in flower for a week. 10L drinks all its water in 2.5days

My system holds up to 46 gallons and if I chose to I can leave it for a week at a time. I went to Maui for 2 weeksand just had my dad come by and top off one time and everything was fine. Water was a little low but the plants looked happy as can be. I think the same thing can happen with dirt too though, if have you a feed that is to strong and water and leave for a week and you'll fry your plants, except you can't just dump the water and start over. Or you can deal with over watering/under watering problems which don't exist in hydro. You just have to not drown them lol.

hey man, you've got this shit down! i need to pick ur brain some and see how your sump (?) system works. in my 4x8 (w/ rockwool uni-slabs) i'll only have a 20gal reservoir, and i know 10 plants will easily drink 10 gallons per day. i may have to re-think things & go with a smaller plant count or something. this is all an experiment to me to see if i still got what it takes.

I have 4 plants in a PA Fallponics RDWC set up with the 13gal resivors. One thing about hydro is it is definitely much more expensive to get started.

absolutely more expensive, but the pay off is oh soooooo worth it. i could teach my method to almost anyone within a week (that's what my training consisted of once i got lucky and found the right mentor, after many not very good results of trying to go it alone) it's actually quite simple if one follows a few simple rules and recipes...

I agree with this. Want to do hydro, do it. I did last year & loved it. More expensive but well worth it. Just kicked off my next grow a month ago. Flipped to 12/12 today.
