*RECAP*
Just wanted to throw up a recap summary of my Journal up until this point.
Started with 5 seeds. 3 Pineapple Upside Down Cake, 1 Lemongrass (both from Humboldt Seed Company) and 1 seed I found in a bag of Sour Power....an incredible strain and deliciously fuel smell and taste...nothing sweet. Closest thing to sour diesel I’ve had in a long time. PUDC and LG were just used to fill space. Sour Power is what I’m after at this point. All seeds popped!
And into solo cups they went. 70% Coco / 30% Clay balls (big mistake..read on)
They all sprouted up pretty quick except for one that stayed underground. Seemed to be a dud. When it germinated the tail was tiny and a little darker than the rest. But I kept spraying it with water just in case. The ...I think Lemongrass.... sprouted pretty neat wearing a helmet. Looked like Pac-Man eating my seedling.
Eventually the one that didn’t sprout, finally poked out. I was surprised. From now on I’ll refer to it as the runt.
From here it was just keeping them humid, lightly moist and getting plenty of light at 18/6 on very low power.
Rinse and repeat, they grew bigger. I decided to transplant maybe earlier than some would. But I felt it was the right time...and probably everyone here told me to anyway lol. I decided to switch to perlite and coco. I had a gut feeling. Those clay balls seemed better used for something else, like straight hydro or something. So I did
70% Coco / 30% Perlite and transplanted to
3 gallon fabric smart pots.
Except for the runt. That went into a “1 gallon” (more like 1 liter) generic fabric pot. I have to say...this pot sucked. Thick as hell, bad lopsided stitching, huge clumps of seemed fabric inside. Never stood up straight either. But it was suitable for the red headed stepchild...the runt.
Now
back to the clay balls... These things made it a nightmare to transplant. They just rolled off the top when flipping the cup and they also really helped the medium to fall apart, even while moist. One was too dry and splattered into the hole. Fun lol.
From this point forward...for a while..I was watering with a
pump sprayer. Nice and slow and even to get roots developing nicely and prevent dry spots or flooding.
They got bigger but stayed light pale green, and like neon. Started to show
signs of deficiencies (don’t use the nutrient I was using, it’s a scam and I got suckered by a spy) but nonetheless I did my best to keep them going.
Sour Power was the healthiest and fastest growing out of them all.
Ended up being a dude :(
So I took it out back and shot it. Then made tea from it‘s remains.
Looks nice but
tasted nasty. Maybe the pineapple would’ve tasted better.
After a couple days I noticed
ALL 3 PUDC WERE HERMIES! So I killed them too, aside from 1 I just couldn’t let go. I had to see if I could
pluck the balls and keep it going. So now, 1 Lemongrass in one tent, 1 Pineapple Upside down cake in another.
LG grew fast, wild and like a psychopath. While PUDC stayed nice and Xmas tree like.
Buds continued to grow as I started seeing more and more deficiencies. Especially in LG.
Right now I am fighting against time to keep them good until harvest. Just a couple / few more weeks. Good thing I have a light with a dimmer lol.
Btw...loving the
spider farmer SE5000 it’s a BEAST of a light and buds are looking awesome.
Few more weeks then the anxiety will be over
