First time grow. I grew veggies in hydro with my nan for years and tried to do so again as an adult after getting sick of overpaying for crap weed.

Growing in a 1.2 x 1.2 x 2 tent. Intake and outake. Using a wilma 4 pot xp system with two air stones and the remo nutrient line. Using a 1200w dimmable LED for veg and 600w air cooled hps for flower.

Used a dome and phd soft tap water for propogation till roots came out of cube from all sides.

Had my LED on veg, 55-65% humidity, temps at around 26c.

One of the plants roots died, had to throw. Checked the rest and they are all white and long and healthy. Put them in little pots tonight after checking the roots after finding the dead one and placed the pots into the clay pebbles. PH is at 5.8.

Pretty bummed as the seeds cost me a decent amount they are green gelato from Barneys farm I believe from rqs.

Seems a bit small to go into the hydroton pile. There must be some roots under that pile of clay? I'm not seeing happy-fun moisture on all that rock. The pics show end-burn on leaves. Use less light until the roots develop, if this is your method.

Hi, here is a pic few pics of the roots . Also the burn is from when they were tiny, my girlfriend put the hps light up by accident while I was away. I changed to the LED and they were fine and pointing up. Since then starting a few days ago, the leaves have curled and look dead.

Can be typical of root stress. Stop taking them out to look. Put 1-2" of hydroton in the bottom of the net pot then place cube and fill. Waterline should be an inch below the net pot so the bubbles from the airstone are splashing the bottom.

Ppm should be 100-150.

Top feed 1 cup a day from the res until roots hit the water. No more and no less or you either going to drown them or starve them. They need stability and the more ya mess with em the worse chance they have

Most importantly stop taking them out.

your rock wool is soaked, no bueno. Use an eye dropper until the plant is big enough to water near by, but not directly on the RW

Hey guys, so I had my ex girlfriend come and help, she grows too and she advised me the problem was severe underwatering. I left the dripper on while at work, so about 8 hours. Came back and they had bounced back in a big way. I just put them into bigger rockwool blocks.

She also advised me to put the HPS up for the added heat, which has also made the rootzone warmer. Pics below:

Dead giveaway. New growth looking like that.

Just keep an eye on it.
Damaged roots will give you tons of misleading stuff up top.

No idea what nutes or ppm you are using. Id guess to high.

I am using the remo nutrients line, atm using grow, micro, calmag, kelp root. Using half strength nutes. I have no way of checking PPM, just p.h. On a bit of a budget grow, was gifted most of the stuff.Figured as I have done hydro as a kid with veggies, i could get through my first grow without a meter. Might have to buy a meter on payday.

Can you recommend a good cheap basic hydro nute line? My ex gave me the remo nutes, but it seems a bit of a ball ache using multiple bottles. I remember my nan used to grow with a two parter a grow nute and a bloom nute, she used the grow nute for the first few weeks while in veg and then the other stuff when flowering, Don't know what to go for and there is so much choice it is a bit hard to really know what is marketing hype and what is good product.

Oh I forgot to say, I am from a very soft water area, My house is near one of the best water sources in Europe, so my PPMs will never really be at risk of getting too high if I use under the reccomended dose of nutes.
