I grew Black Domina in the 90's. We had a great cut. I am picking it back up again and ordered a fresh seed pack. I was lucky and got 6 fems, 3 males, and 1 runt. Of the 6 fems only one had some of the characteristics I remember from way back when. With sexing, crowding, late transplants, etc, the mother turned out good, not great. I am hoping with some proper care, this pheno can perform as I remember.

I have only started back up in the last couple of years. Here is what I am using for hydro coco:
General Hydroponics: MaxiGrow/Bloom, RapidStart, CaliMagic, Liquid/Powder Koolbloom
Botanicare: Silica Blast
House & Garden: Drip Clean

I had been growing in #5 pots, but am dropping it down to #3 for this grow. I hope to be able to feed more frequently than with the larger pots. I always get shock when transplanting from #1 to #5, and hope to avoid that as well.

No serious signs of slowed growth so far. I am still mainly feeeding by hand, but hope to get things fully automated soon. Oh yeah, it's also time to drop the screen.

The screen is hung (no legs) Great method for a tent!

More to come as the screen fills in!

Black domino is one of those strains thats been used as a building block for many of the modern strains.
i know loompa used it in his yeti line i think it was.not 100% which line it was but i think it was the yeti coz wen he said it i remember being suprised as the yetis dont look like they had any bd in them.

haha, high fashion in the 90's! I scanned that from the 1995 Sensi Seed catalog
I think it's coming back in style, to be honest lmao.

Pop over and check out my dairy, that's just a bunch of words and a few pics right now, for another week or so lol. Can use all the interest I can get over here.

Also, I love your pot/dripsetup, looks easy to maintain and nothing to really worry about. Care to share any tips? I hate hand watering lol

Haha I was thinking those might be Ben Dronkers hands on that BD. Wish I had me some, rarely see it around here anymore.

Thanks! I am a cheap bastard. I'll pay for things like lights and pumps, but when it comes to simple drip systems, reservoirs, etc I think it's best to build your own based on your environment. I have a shallow drain to waste reservoir that fits underneath cinder blocks holding up a pallet on a slight incline. I use the kiddy pool to direct all the water to the waste reservoir through a single hole. I used this system for hand watering and have just implemented a 400GPH pump that will eventually feed the plants several times a day when in flower. Height is the main problem in the tent if not growing vertically. A low profile drain to waste setup, and SCROG really maximizes vertical space for "traditional" lights on top growing.

Here are the BD's after a few days under the screen. They are continuing to grow well and fill in the screen. I believe low humidity has been my issue with transplant shock to the flower tent. I am going to get a better humidifier as it's hard to maintain high humidity with minimal vegetation in the tent. I have noticed that humidity is much better maintained once the plants fill in.

The screen is almost filled in, probably just a few more days to a week until I flip to 12/12. I am feeding 5mg/gal General Hydroponics MaxiGro, along with rapidstart, calimagic, and drip clean. Manually feeding with the pump and getting a feel for feed times. I got a few 7 day digital timers from Amazon for $13 that you can modify (easy soldering) to gain up to the second resolution on programs. One feeding every 3 days still.

Finally some formation and trichs! You can tell already this will be dense bud. Barely any room smell though. 1.3 ec 3x/day. I've taken out all foliage below the screen but there's still so much above. Not sure how much trimming is beneficial vs damaging to the plants?

That looks great! I think that manicuring, taking the foliage off is very strain dependent and also comes down to personal/market preference: do you want super big nugs with the possibilities of mold or medium sized, or popcorn? I prefer tops but again certain strains I don't clean up too much because of mold.

Thanks for the reply! It's always tough to know whether to trim the bud sites the leaves cover, or trim the leaves that cover bud sites... Oh well. I don't think I'll have to worry too much. This is all for personal, and friends. Gone are my days of selling this stuff. It isn't worth anything anymore where I am.

So I'm all wrapped up with this grow. It didn't end up anything special. Took it to 76 days. Frosty, but not potent, and yield was just OK. Still curing, so maybe it will turn a corner. Holding on to a mother, but probably not a permanent rotation.
