Good budget indoor setup for 1 or 2 plants?

I plan on going the coco/perlite route. I guess my main concern is lighting for 1 plant, 2 at most.

Years ago I did metal halide with good results and the electric bill was through the roof. I know lighting has come a long way in the last couple decades, and I'm looking for something more economical yet sufficient. I'd like to get the plants flowering on the shorter side.

I'm kind of taken aback by seed prices these days when they used to be free added bonuses. Open for any recommendations on that as well.

I’ve been very happy with vipar xs1500 pro especially for the $100 range with coupon applied. Have not used it for flowering, only veg but I imagine flower would be great for 1-2 plants. Plenty of light in my 2x2 veg room and have had 3 plants at once, i prefer 1-2 in that size room.

Thanks fellas for the suggestions. I read some reviews and it looks like Vipar LEDs could be perfect. And more economical than the 400w MH I used back in the day. I checked out the V1000 model also. Don't know if 50 less watts would make a difference with a crop this small or not.

I'm trying to germinate some 10+ year old seeds that are probably dead, but had to at least give those a go first.

check out Quantum Boards a 120 Watt board will work good for 1-2 plants but 240 watts is better -- QB are cheaper and there is less noise (from fans in led lights) also less heat -- Considering up-grading to "bars" (LED) for great coverage, ect - check sites like Discount Led, ect

I'm using 2 zazzy grow tents, both 3x3x6. All my gear is from amazon or what I've been lucky enough to win here on the farm. Got 2 trainwreck vegging under the @PhlizonGrowLight PL-2000. 200w and honestly, I think I could probably flower these under it, but will be using 400w of mixed amazon led lights for that. This is my veg tent currently, 6 inch ac infinity fan/filter, 2 hurricane clip fans, and 5 gallon pots of living organic soil.

I think I'll go with the XS1500 Pro.

Looking at grow tents, I'm considering this one. It's 32X32X63, or the 36X36X72 version. Both come to around $37 after tax with a Mercury card promo:

I've never had a grow tent. For one or two short bushy plants, would it be better to go with a smaller tent, or is it one of those bigger won't hurt deals?
That's the tent I have. No complaints but I'd go as big (footprint) as you can. 👍

Is Phlizon's shipping pretty fast? Their prices aren't bad. I'm wondering if the PL-2000 is pretty much two PL-1000s in one unit. Two of those would come to $92 after discount on their website which is about what I'm looking to spend, and they can be daisy chained which is a plus.

Got the tent, perlite, and Calimagic ordered. Coco coir bricks, fans and timers I have. Hopefully that covers everything to get started..

From what I can gather, it looks like 2 100s put together. But should work great for you and keep you in budget. You can always add cheap supplemental lighting if needed down the line or upgrade to a bigger light. Sounds like you got all the other bases covered, happy growing my friend, the Farm is fill of great and knowledgeable to help you out along the way.

No problem with that concern.

All equipment comes contaminated with spores they are ubiquitous, everywhere. The NEW tent you buy is contaminated the first day you pop it open. Managing disease/spore loads depends on your housekeeping habits.

Considering the savings on a slightly used, one season grow tent stystem I would buy a set up assemble I then proceed to disenfect. Disinfect no different than you would normally do at the end of each harvest.

Wipe everything down and wet with 5% hypochlorite/water solution. Go back and wipe down with Sporklenz. Finally wipe everything with 75-90% isopropyl alcohol to remove hypochlorite/Sporklenz residue. You do this and you will remove fungal spores and keep them at manageable levels. Zip open the door one time and voila, you have just introduced a fresh spore load.

This is my problem - I don’t buy new and I don’t pay retail.

i’ve got a couple tents, the best tent i ever had/have is a gorilla grow tent and i have a couple other pieces of gorilla equipment..
not saying you have to buy it, but you get what you pay for and there is no such thing as deals anymore.. if i’d buy a gorilla tent used before buying a cheap new tent, but any equipment i’d buy new and buy good equality equipment which is not sold on amazon..
amazon is a rip off..
