What’s up Weedly? Did you ever make your butter?😁
Have not made the butter yet but I did make some tincture with Everclear. I haven’t been brave enough to try it yet, but my friend has and said it was really mellow. She guessed maybe 2 ml was a little stronger than a 10 mg gummy.
I have 5.4 ounces of mostly trimmed buds from one plant that was kind of seedy and since the 2.2 ounces of perfect buds will get me way past the next grow, I’m looking for all kinds of edible recipes. Next is the butter for brownies and cookies. And maybe some gummies…
I’ve been smoking my weed for the past few nights and it’s all I could hope for—mellow, sedating, and just enough head buzz to stop me from overthinking shit enough to enjoy the evening. Homegrown Grape Ape for the win!

I did. And I’ve come away with one question:
Which came first, the feminized seed or the female hermaphrodite plant?
It does seem obvious to me that a feminized seed had to come from a female plant without any male genetics, which means it had to be forced to herm, right? So obviously the DNA in that seed is going to grow a plant that has the same propensity to herm under the same conditions that caused its parent to herm. I now take it as my job to ensure that my feminized plant never sees the condition that hermed its mother. A task I’m a little more armored to now to take up.

I don’t know about scholarly, but I’ll take the three part argument by @Grownsince95, which lays out their experience, learned knowledge, and fluid beliefs as pretty reliable.
Now if you could speak calmly with those credentials and the realization that opinions by their very nature cannot be concrete, I will happily listen. You obviously have some experience that I could learn from.
All cannabis are hermafrodites.they just activate later in life when they are sure no viable male is around.

5.6 ounces of bud laden trim in 2 pounds of butter, simmering happily at 1 am in the morning.

hermaphrodite plant came first, in fact it always been there.

some landrace strain like marrocan beldia for example are known to carry the hermi trait.

also hermaphrodism is a mutation that can just happen naturally or near the end of plant life there is also a process known as rodelization when you push the flowering time longer where the cannabis plant tend to throw males flower late in flower in a final attempt to reproduce.

also some strains and some phenos could just be more prone to herm than some others with or without environnemental stress.

Am I wrong in thinking that a feminized seed must be from a female plant that was forced to herm and therefore must carry the same gene that caused the mother to produce pollen?

it's not as simple as that plant carry the hermi gene, as far as i know hermaphrodism could involve a few genes (not only one) and plant mechanisms. It's still under study nowdays for all the detailed mechanism involved for why, when and how it happen.

but yeah feminized seeds result from pollen from a female plant that produced male flowers and pollinated another female plant or herself.

That's it? How long must you simmer it? I guess in the end you let the butter harden... I wonder if there is a more vegan way to do this? Askin for a friend :)
I followed the tutorials over on Grow Weed Easy and just decarbed the weed in the oven for half an hour, melted a pound of butter in a pot of water, simmered the weed in it for 90 minutes, strained out the weed and allowed the butter and water to separate in the fridge overnight. I haven’t tried it yet, but everything progressed just as they said it would.

I've been smoking weed for damn near 40 years, and some of the best weed I've ever smoked had seeds in it. I don't aim for it in a grow, but would not dismiss it either.
I’m starting to gather seeds aren’t the apocalypse I originally thought. If I need more to smoke I have plenty of buds with a few seeds that I’ll happily pick through, but for now I have more than I could need of seedless stuff. There’s loads of recipes I want to try with everything else.

I think I use the water one time! The first time! I guess if you want a big puck it’s OK! But I don’t have a problem just squeezing it into a bowl! Seemed like the water was kind of unnecessary!

This is pretty much how I do it, but I get very detailed on time and temperature of the decarboxylating process.
