Got a lot of seeds in my harvest

I’m starting to gather seeds aren’t the apocalypse I originally thought. If I need more to smoke I have plenty of buds with a few seeds that I’ll happily pick through, but for now I have more than I could need of seedless stuff. There’s loads of recipes I want to try with everything else.
There's a big difference in some seeds vs. hundreds of seeds in a grow. The more seeds produced means less energy given to flower ripening. 50 seeds no big deal... 500 seeds and quality is degraded some.

Having said that, some folks dedicate a grow to mass seed production for future growing or for human consumption, as they are very nutritious.

I think I use the water one time! The first time! I guess if you want a big puck it’s OK! But I don’t have a problem just squeezing it into a bowl! Seemed like the water was kind of unnecessary!
Water carries away the junk you don't want mixed in with the butter, like chlorophyll.

I was definitely on the lower end of the scale. I just went into panic mode when a seed came out of the bud I was trimming since (and I'm giving away my noviceness here) I never had to deal with one before. I had just read they were a real bother. Now, after talking with you guys, I see I way, way overreacted.

This is pretty much how I do it, but I get very detailed on time and temperature of the decarboxylating process.
I really wanted to retain any terpenes that might have been in the weed, so after a little research I landed on 240 degrees for 30 minutes, which I think may have been too hot and/or too long since I was really smelling up the house, which if I could smell the terps I assume that meant they were making a mass exodus. I did use an external thermometer and kept the oven right at that temp though. I had done a little experimentation with my oven and found it wanted to kick on up to 270 and then cool down to 210 before kicking on again.

If you're decarbing in the oven you still have to break it up. Maybe the left over seeds will pop like popcorn 🍿 A little salt and butter yeah.

In a decarb machine just put the whole buds in. If you care about adding these seeds to your seed catalog then collect them as you use your product.

I get all nitty gritty about it. I have a digital thermometer that has a probe that goes into the oven. So I did some experimenting on my own with my oven, and watched it cycle on and off to see how far the temperature swung. Now I know exactly how to set it for the temperature I want based on that information.

I like to decarb at 230°F for 25 minutes. Some terpenes are gonna boil off way before that temperature, but that's life. The moisture content of your flower will affect how long you must decarb at any given temperature.

You can also place your buds, ground up of course, in a mason jar and decarb like that which may keep the smell down in the house a little. I think I've read that somewhere, but I've never tried it.

Charts like this are very helpful:

Concentration mM of A THCA A and B D 9 THC as a function of time and temperature

Concentration (mM) of (A) THCA-A and (B) D 9-THC as a function of time and temperature.

So, for me at 110°C (230°F) conversion is nearly complete at about 20-23 minutes.

There's much data on the decarboxylation process online, including many other cannabinoids.
