Looks like it's that time! I'll be growing one of each plant - Granddaddy Purple and Northern Lights #10.

Seedlings each have a 1/4" taproot and were planted in soil on December 9th, 2024.

Method: SCROG
Soil: Fox Farms Ocean Forest
Light: AC Infinity IONFRAME EVO3 - 18" above, 18on/6off cycle
Ventilation: AC Infinity 4" Air Filtration PRO Kit w/ carbon filter
Intake: RAXIAL S4 4" Booster Duct Fan
Oscillating Fan: AC Infinity CLOUDRAY S6
Humidifier: AC Infinity CLOUDFORGE T7

Stay tuned for more updates!

All the seedlings have broken soil! Germinated two of each type because I always seem to get a dud, but everything germinated this time. Going to pick the strongest looking one from each strain and move forward with that. Not sure what I'm going to do with the second seedling of each strain. Since I'm only working out of a 4'x2' tent and utilizing the SCROG method, I really only have room for two plants in the tent.

Looking like I might be going with the two seedlings in the front. Anybody have suggestions with what to do with the second seedling of each strain? I don't want to just get rid of them but I'm not sure what to do since I can only SCROG two plants at a time in this tent.

Transplanted into their 7 gallon pots. I decided to throw the two extras into 3 gallon pots and see if I can do anything with them so they don't just go to waste, we'll see if I can work something out where they aren't affecting the SCROG of the main plants.

The two little ones aren't looking too happy, I think I may have overwatered them when I transplanted since I'm not used to going from seedling straight into their finishing pots. We'll see what happens with them over the next few days. The bigger GDP looks to have something going on with one of its leaves but other than that looks strong. The main NL plant looks extremely happy and is leaving all the others in the dust in terms of rate of growth. Enjoy!

Any idea what's going on with the main GDP plant? I had this same thing on two of the lower leaves. I removed those two leaves the other day, and now I'm seeing it on these two.

Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil
70-75°F
70% RH
Not currently feeding any nutes
Looked really close at the leaves and didn't see any pests

Currently it's only on these two leaves pictured, and other than that is looking pretty healthy.

Love northern lights (I’ve grown it four times now). I’m very curious to see how #10 comes along.

Funny I purchased GDP from a dispensary and it couldn’t touch the high and taste of my NL… I’ll have to try growing GDP to give it a fair comparison…

Plants look amazing! I’ve never had good luck with Ocean Forest, but it seems to work well for you. (I switched to happy frog)

I’ll be watching this grow if you don’t mind me coming along for the ride.

The NL plant is doing really well so far! I'm trying to figure out what's going on with some of the leaves of my main GDP plant, I'll probably make a post in the infirmary shortly. The two extras I'm not even sure if they're going to make it, I don't usually go from seedling tray straight into their finishing pots so I think I may have overwatered them and they potentially have an onset of root rot. I just transplanted them into new soil yesterday, hopefully they'll bounce back, but my hopes aren't very high. I really hope whatever is going on with the main GPD plant isn't terminal though, I'm really looking forward to trying some homegrown GDP. I'll grab some updated pics of the main NL plant shortly, she's really happy.

Enjoy the ride!

Updated pic of the main NL plant - she's starting to show signs of what I think is root rot. If this is the case, I'm never going from seedling tray to finishing pot again, as I'm pretty sure this is the case with all 4 plants right now. Really hoping I'm not going to have to restart this grow from scratch.

Yep, tricky to water with a small plant in a large pot... I'll look for your GDP pics in the infirmary.

Edit---I'll let others chime in here... I'd say your a little light on N but could be way off...

Testing PH is hard in this situation, but might not be a bad idea to do a quick slurry test to check soil PH.... I've had nothing but problems using Ocean Forest here on the East Coast.... You don't want to see those pictures !

Agree with everyone below, your plants look pretty good overall.... Might just need a little time to acclimate to the soil...

They need food. Ocean Forest and Happy Frog and a few others on the market are not near as hot and nutrient rich as many believe and go on and on about. Here is a pic of what NPK is in a bag of Ocean Forest. This is on the bag.
