I’ve been noticing little snail trails as it’s getting warmer out! I’ll be joining the battle with you shortly : ) lookin good out there though!

When you got stuff in the greenhouse are you using supplemental lighting?
Wow, just seeing this. Sorry for the delay but yes, 9 Watt LED's, mainly over the strawberries but yes, 15 total hours of light a day keeps them from flowering. They want to, they try but 15hrs seems to keep them in vegg. I moved out the GDP mom to flower a few weeks ago and she's doing her thing

We currently have 13:45 hrs of Iight a day and getting longer so who knows if it will reveg or go full blown flower. Hoping for flower as they really get big in the June/July sunshine🌞 but this is the latest I've tried to flip a plant in the spring so we'll see.

Just curious, how many runs did you have to do before the purple started showing up? And about how many generations didnt it take you before it became dominant?

Im thinking im going start hunting after i get my current plants out of the barn

First run but not many so I focused on those plants for breeding. I still used the green females for seed making to keep as much genetic material as possible in this line but the purple is the focus and this marks F5. We'll see how they come out.

7 years ago I was gifted some GDP seeds. After growing, drying and curing that wonderful grape smell/taste reminded me of the first time I puffed this strain 20 years ago.

The one thing I noted is the 3 distinct phenos. Green, mix and full on purple.

While all 3 show purple in the flowers, especially during colder weather the purple pheno is stunning, but what's more is the grape smell/taste is stronger in the purple plants.

I've been breeding this strain focusing on the purple pheno trying to set this purple line and I may finally have succeeded with the latest generation.

I planted 10 and all 10 popped and all 10 have the distinctive purple stems.

Seeds were planted 4/17 and popped 5 days later 4/22. I'll be transplanting them into solo cups in the next couple days and updating often.

I'll be growing them out in 3 gal pots of coconut coir with MasterBlend nutrients in a greenhouse and breeding the best male and female outside.

Pull up a seat and enjoy the purple plantsView attachment 2157136

Wow those purple plants are really spectacular I’d love to try getting some seeds, what are they called?
Good luck with the breeding process

Quick update, it's been a bit.
Seedlings
20240518 092501

7 from April and 1 from May
Slow growth as expected with 2-3 hrs of sunlight a day. Overcast every frickin day until about 2pm.

These 2 From April
20240518 092527

are culls that are still hanging around. I hate that leaf end rot and have no clue what's causing it. May be genetic so if those 2 continue to hang out they won't be part of any breeding.

The reason for the copper pipe
20240518 092812

I've got a couple of these bottles with Basil in the kitchen window. This one sits on my seedling tray not surrounded by copper pipe. Surprised it's lasted this long.

I'll update the clones and flowering mom later today.

That looks awesome! Seeing Mama flower and turn purple must be a beautiful sight. Those purple hues are always a treat to the eyes and a sign of some potentially fantastic buds coming your way.

She's a couple weeks since flip of 15hrs sun/led's a day in a greenhouse to 13.5hrs outside and within the month 14+ hrs light a day the summer Solstice June 20th. This is the latest I've put one outside so if she doesn't reveg I'm really looking forward to her finishing up mid July. I've harvested late June before and bred a pair in May. Either way those flowers are starting to look so good.

Mama got sprayed with neem this overcast morning
20240526 090029

Cutting out the extra calcium makes the fade real. She doesn't need bright green leaves right now she needs to put all energy toward those flowers and she's using up what stores she has.

She's been through hell since fall and I had planned to compost her with the 4 other moms I kept, after taking cuts of course but she just kept hanging in there and putting out new branches and here we are, 5 weeks from harvest. Looking forward to some fresh grapes and berries🥰

that somehow stay around. They will never be bred and with all the seeds of other strains I've planted recently they will be the first to get composted, along with the leaf burn plant above. I won't breed any plant with any defects, ever.

Edit: cuts and seedlings are washed out by LED's & CFL's

Her cuts
20240601 090916

Who ever it was who suggested to make the cuts just below a leaf as they root faster at nodes was
BRILLIANT

I took 3 cuts of my Starry Eyed this morning, only a month old but did get one cut below a node.

Seedlings
20240601 090930

Best 5. The 6th one had its top wrapped up by a spider and I had to clip it. While an environmental issue it will be last on the list to breed.

The 4 non breeders
20240601 090953

If fems I'll allow to flower for smoke and processing into oil.

This girl pays us a visit from time to time
20240601 095530

Usually see her across the street at the neighbors. She's not tame and won't let me get near her.
