Hi guys,

I would like to only grow one plant in a pot, which is why I want to do it in as simple and cost-efficient way as possible (no grow tents and expensive LED pannels).
My plant will be in a part of the room, which does not receive alot of natural sunlight, but is next to my reptile terrariums, which all have 90 cm long full spectrum 50 watt LED lights, which illuminate that part of the room quite well. However, since this light will be coming from one side, I know I need to have an additional light from above, to prevent the plant from growing to the side. I found some suggestions that normal 150 watt LED light bulb might suffice until flowering. I also saw sugegstions to use Sensi 35 watt bulbs, but I also read somwhere that they are very inefficient.

I am aware that none of these options are ideal, but what solution might be good enough, yet simple and cheap?

I really appreciate your help!

Viparspectra XS1500 Pro is a great light, can be had for under $100 with promo codes. Works for all growth stages.

As far as grow lights go, the xs1500 price is lower then other options with same power.
What's your budget for lighting? Will be helpful to come up with other suggestions or creative ideas.

Cannabis is a light-hungry plant. Having sufficient light for flower will pay for itself in the first grow. I'd be looking for a 100-150W LED, used. Something like those recommended above, or a Mars Hydro TS1000 or Spider Farmer SF1000. You can probably find those used under $50.

For a 120w LED that's pretty good. I was gonna suggest even just a 75w with a 500w rating for someone just wanting to dick around with growing without forking up more than about $30 for a light. Anything but a reptile light or regular illumination.

Do your first grow with a living soil that has all the nutrients in it for vegging and the same brand soil amendment designed for the flowering stage. I recommend EB Stone Recipe 420 Bhang and their Ultra Bloom Amendment, and if you'll be vegging them longer than 90 days, their all purpose amendment. The last thing you want happening on your first grow is getting frustrated trying to feed them right. Ignore the peanut butter in the Pic. That's for baiting my rat traps.

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions. The reason I do not want to get these led panels for just one plant is because the plant is in my bedroom and I do not have the space and I cannot hang it from anywhere. So this is why I was asking whether a single bulb, something like the one below would suffice. And keeping in mind there is a lot of indirect light from full spectrum led´s coming from the side (from my reptile terrariums).

If you don’t have space for a light, you’ll have a hard time bringing a plant to full maturity. The plant takes up way more space than the light.

As far as hanging it goes, you can make a stand out of cheap PVC tubing. Go to a local hardware store and for maybe $20 get all the pipes and fittings, cut the pieces, and it’s like adult legos. Essentially this but as high as you can comfortably go. The Viparspectra usually comes with cords to hang it and adjust the height, which is what you want.

The linked bulb really isn’t great. Take a look at the PPFD’s. At about a foot, it’s 100. The linked lights that others have suggested have about 1,000 or 1,400 at the same distance. Those lights mentioned aren’t the top of the line either (and you don’t need the top of the line). So your linked light is targeting around 10% of the budget line of lights others have mentioned.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Do you have any suggestion for a 75 watt lamp that could be okay?
I already have soil, I bought bio bizz light mix.

I know that your space is limited. If there is any way that you can fit a led panel, it will work much better than the bulb posted above. The panels themselves are fairly small.

The space is not such a big problem, It was more the problem of hanging the panel.
