We know that Ideal daytime temps for growing are round 70 to 80 Right?

And this Book I have

Say's that Cannabis won't grow in temps over 85.....:sweating

I know they must mean in a grow room and that can't apply to outdoor growing...Can it??

Been 95 here for two weeks straight and probably a couple more weeks to come.

My plants seem ok . But I'm wondering how much better they might be growing if it was a bit cooler

and

Do flowering plants need more or less water than when they were Vegging?

Plants use up the most water in flower an late flower specfically, an plants grown in warm temps do fine if they've a. Been bred for out doors in warmer temps or b. Havebeen hardened off over generations of cloneing in that specfic enviroment... there was a time long ago that seeds were sold as outdoor an indoor varities an seperated in different sections.... an there were plenty of examples of breeders who focused on there specfic growing zones... My cab is outdoor, in the shed.
Summers are brutal here 110ish for 2-3 months , no rain ever.
Highest temp in the cab this summer 114.

If your outdoor plants can take it the indoor ones can also.
Grow guides are wrong quite often IMHO.
Seen greenhouses hit 120'F.

I also recommend water absorbinng polymers if you grow outdoors in this heat.
They own.
They don't make your bud taste bad, an are food safe.
I only water My outdoor ladies once a week, 2 gal each in 100'+ summers.
Shit WORKS!!

Lots of mulch to hold the water in the ground.

Line you holes to hold the pitiful rains water an keep the surrounding soil from sucking your soil dry.

Out here the sun is strong, a bit of shade during the hottest part of the is a good thing.

Hey Goo; Im near fresno. We might have to hook up someday.

So far I have only been watering once every day.

Scarhole; I have seen that stuff and wondered about it.

I know cannabis like good drainage...so those "water absorbinng polymers" don't make the soil too soggy? or impede drainage?

Ground stays cool

that's why I went with raised beds.

In-ground Would probably be best in this heat,
but we have Gophers galore here.

I do have some in pots that I worry about.

It has been running 94 here for weeks, starting to hit 100 now. My plants get no water. They do not thrive but adapt and survive. Hoping for some killer bud.

To stop gophers I use a 5 gal bucket burried.
Lines the hole, an stops gophers an rabbits from digging under the cages.

The water absorbing polymers don't make it to soggy for me.
You only use a Tbl spoon or 2 per 5 gal hole.
After My super skunk was done I inspected the soil an couldnt tell anything was added.
I been using em for 2 yrs now.
Last year I tried ZEBA gel witch is starch based.
Didn't wok as good, harder to find, an more expensive.

But the mulch is almost as important as the polymers.
I wouldnt use one without the other.

For more info on dessert gardening google xeriscaping.

My signature link has pics of my outdoor Chemo x Iranian thriving in the heat on 2 gal a week.

All summer my Greenhouse averages 80-95..sometimes hits 100 in the daytimes. (humidity 20-40%) I water heavy in the morning and later around 6-ish. Then the nights dip down to 50. So far so good.

marijuana would prefer not to get baked by a hot sun, especially indica varietys. that said its been 110 in the ozarks this year, hottest it's been in 60 years and my plants , for the most part are doing ok, that is with me watering about once a week, maybe every 4 days when it's really hot. We got a couple of nice little rains in August that really helped. If it stays under 100 they can take the no rain for longer, but if it's over a 100 and no rain, you'd better be out there watering, like I was last night.

heres what the heat and no moisture can do.
