Growing on sugar cane farm

I am converting sugar cane farm to cannabis. Was wondering if soil would be good for cannabis after 50 years of cane production

id say yes ,just from organic matter built up over years,time to send a soil sample off to your nearest college and find out

What @oldskol4evr said. However, monocropping like that leads to persistent pests. Do you know the pest history? If so, you may want to treat the soil prior to starting a cannabis grow.

Best to do a soil test for any heavy metals that may have accumulated over the yrs. Cannabis sucks up all the bad crap in dirt. Then your cannabis will fail lab testing.

I forgot about that. Hemp is used as a bioaccumulater in areas with compromised soil....

Exactly! They do have hemp planted around Chernobyl and some areas in Italy where heavy metals accumulated.
