Hello All

I haven't quite finished my outdoor summer plants yet, but I'm really excited about my upcoming winter indoor grow, (and would like to share a grow journal), so I just had to start a thread and post my setup! I will be using four 12", approx. 5 gallon "Saturn" Bloem flower pots, (bloemliving.com); with FoxFarm Happy Frog soil. I typically use FoxFarm Grow Big, Big Bloom, and Tiger Bloom for added nutrients. The seedlings will be under a 400 watt HPS lamp. After a few weeks, I'll switch them to the LED Mars Hydro TSW 2000 lamp, (www.mars-hydro.com). My plans right now are to grow a Lemon Skunk from Royal Queen Seeds and a Master Kush from MSNL Seeds, I'm undecided on the other 2 spots. Too many seeds and too many choices, LOL! I hope you enjoy the grow and look forward to your comments and suggestions!

Hello All!

Well the winter grow is off and running! I decided to skip the HPS light setup and am using the LED Mars Hydro TSW 2000 lamp, (www.mars-hydro.com). These seedlings just emerged within the last 24 hours. In the front orange pot is a Lemon Skunk-F, and to the left is a White Widow-F; both from Royal Queen Seeds. On the right is a Master Kush-F from Sensi Seeds. The orange pot in the back has one of mine own seeds; this summer I grew an outdoor unknown Sativa type mother and crossed her with AK47 pollen. I harvested a lot of seeds and this seed sprouted within 48 hours. It should emerge soon. I'm looking forward to the grow, I hope you enjoy the updates and I look forward to your comments and suggestions!

First week in the books! The AK cross seed emerged last Sunday so it will be a week old tomorrow (front right in photo). I have the LED lamp approx. 24" above the soil surface at 50-60%, 18 hours.

Two weeks have passed and the plants are looking pretty healthy. In front (L-R) is the AK cross, Lemon Skunk. In back is the Master Kush, and the White Widow. I just watered them and haven't used any additional nutrients.

Well its been 4 weeks, at week 3 I added a little FoxFarm GrowBig and Big Bloom to their watering. Unfortunately, I had some nuti burn and slowed things down a bit. I watered them yesterday with straight H2O, and they are looking better.

Wise move to skip the HPS for your seedlings. They would stretch like a mf. Looks like you had a K burn. Probably from the added bloom nutes. Grow Big should suffice for now. Too much K can lock out N, Ca and Mg so be mindful if that. An excess of P can cause issues with Ca, Fe, Zn and Mn. Along with N, those secondary and micronutrients are essential for photosynthesis. Notice how the color has gone from vibrant green in the first pic to a dull, yellowish green in the second one? It appears to be K toxicity. Sometimes K can be tricky to figure out because deficiency and toxicity can look very similar. Drop the bloom nutes and they should get their color back soon.

I agree, they certainly didn't need the Foxfarm at all, hopefully they recover. Thanks for the information!

I really screwed this grow up!! The Master Kush and White Widow plants haven't grown much in the past 2 weeks (6 weeks old today), but the tops look a little healthier so I'm hoping they survive....we'll see. Unfortunately, the AK mix and Lemon Skunk plants (orange pots) just weren't turning the corner so i dumped them out, bought fresh Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil, and just planted another Master Kush seed today. I also have another White Widow seed soaking for the other pot. Those are my two favorites so I'll try, and try again!

i'm not a dirt farmer, but if i was, i'd go drastic if it continued to worsen to the point of imminent death - i'd take em out of the pot, very carefully rinse the roots off then replant in some [known] good soil, like FF. (be sure to use Great White or other premium mycorrhizal inoculant). here are pics of the sickly little runt i was given @ 1 week old on nov 9th. this is the potential of what a plant can look like @ 6 weeks (probably not so much in dirt, but not impossible, everything must be optimal) this seed was hatched from seed on nov 2nd which makes it 1 day shy of 6 weeks old, today.
hope you can get'm right so we can continue to follow along.

-peace- 💪 👊 👍 ✌️ 🎅 🤶

ps - i'm not saying do this; i'm saying this is what i would do.

I actually tried that with the Lemon Skunk, washed the roots, and dipped it in root hormone powder, but it didn't come around.

That's a very nice looking plant you are growing! 😊
