Hangi Time On The Farm...

Today on the farm we are preparing to put down a Hangi, a New Zealand Maroi traditional feast...
We have a whole deer several chickens, pototoes, onion, carrots, all from garden. will stuff cavity wrap feast in collard, mustard and kale greens.build the fire in the pit and heat up rocks, place delights in ground wrapped in burlap cover and steam cook for 6 hours or so....

after unearthing a prayer of thanks is given. the elders are served first..
Venison, our farm raised chicken, garden potatoes, carrots, onion, wrapped in mustard, collard and rhubarb leaves.. Burned peach wood over rocks 10 hours preheat...will cook for 7 hours....
Covered cage with wet burlap, then covered entire pit with wet sheet, buried 5 inches or so, no steam emmited....

Man, no offense but everytime I enter one of yer threads I leave drueling LOL! whether it's fishing, farming, growing or eating..........It never fails!
