I remember reading somewhere that a lot of people like the Carson Microbright Plus handheld microscope, they can be bought for $15 USD on Amazon. I've had one in my Amazon cart for a couple years now, maybe it's time I get one and see how it does lol.

Idk. I haven’t cleaned mine in 2 years and it’s still clear. Use any alcohol based lens cleaners and microfiber. It’s just glass.

We bought 2 different loups and neither worked worth a darn, but my eyes aren’t real great:). Go on Amazon and buy a small pocket microscope… Magnification is usually 50 through 300 or more… But 50 is really all you need. They only cost about 30 bucks and are head and shoulders better than a loop, IMHO

This one isn’t ready yet for me. Very close though. As soon as I see 5-8% Amber, they get the chop chop. 65 days from sprout. 95% of my autos reach desired maturity by the 68-75th day. 9-11 weeks.

I've been told there are fewer regrets from waiting than from harvesting early.

Normally I’d agree (kinda like my new mantra of “when in doubt, wait”).

But Faulty has very limited photosynthesis after trimming, I’d think that is going to be a major limiting factor. Plus where does transpiration happen now? Probably inside the buds, exactly where we don’t want extra moisture.

Limited growth potential, increased risk of bud rot, I vote cut it.

What product did you use to get those pics? I'm still 6-7 weeks from having to worry about my first harvest, but I'm searching for a quality scope/magnifier to visualize the trichomes.

Since I'm a new grower, I gotta ask: Will the buds continue photosynthesis and mature on a plant with no leaves? If they will, how would it affect maturation time? And if they won't, then wouldn't it be more or less pointless to keep them just hanging out on the plant?

I know that I'm late to this conversation, and I'm not trying to start arguments, but curiosity makes me wonder. If nothing else, it's the coolest bonsai tree that I've ever seen!

I have no interest in doing that to my plant! lol I'm using Advanced Nutrients pH perfect blend (micro, grow, bloom) and I still make the pH right before adding the nutes to the water. I just wasn't sure if ANY photosynthesis actually takes place within the bud. I saw that picture, and it just made my inner nerd geek out a little.
