If ya broke it or it split treat like you would a cut. Keep it clean and covered until it heals. You don't need to disinfect it but if it snapped just hold it up into place and tape it back up. If it need extra support can make a splint for it using toothpicks and tape or a bamboo shoot. Hell even liquid bandaid will work to seal it up.
