Help electrical problems asap

I have an electrical socket that has nothing plugged into it but yet its tripping my breaker and the socket itself is generating heat need help asap

sounds like there is a short

turn off the breaker, undo the face plate, undo the screw holding the sockets into the box. pull that out and check all your wires. Make sure they aren't touching and make sure they are tight.

be sure to TURN OFF THE BREAKER BEFORE YOU DO THIS

Replace the socket asap for sure.
